They probably want to learn something about our defense before they play us again.

Given the Jets secondary he might get a chance to actually play this season

Happy for Wildgoose because he gets his opportunity

Hate that we lost a player we drafted

He’s actually a very good athlete for a CB.  It seemed that he needed some work but that there was potential there

Slight edit:

They probably want to learn something about defense before they play anyone again.

I guess he really wants to play. So much so that he’d do anything like sign with the Jets.

I've said this before, but the difference to a player between PS salary and a rookie minimum salary on the 53 man roster is significant

As per the NFLPA's CBA, practice squad players make $9,200 per week or $165,600 per the whole season. In the case of veterans with 2+ years of experience, that number jumps to $14,000 weekly or $252,000 per 18 weeks.

Rookie minimum of $660,000 per week is $36,000/week.  So for a guy on the practice squad, that minimum of an extra $80,400 (for the required 3 weeks on the active roster) is kind of a big deal, even if it means you have to play for the Jets....it's like a 50% raise in income.

Not to mention opportunity and getting tape out there for the rest of the league to see what you can do.

I'll definitely give this front office credit for losing two of their late round picks that were stashed on the practice squad by midseason.

But at the end of the day the odds of these guys panning out in the league are slim to none and kind of feel sorry for Wildgoose to leave a team like the Bills for a dumpster fire like the Jets.

You aren’t kidding. $660k minimum for 53 man. $166K for PS. Money aside, I don’t blame the guy for going when opportunities in this league can be fleeting. Just not sure I’m making that leap of faith for the Jets.
