GETTOTHE50 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I feel bad for him and his development. He probably won’t be able to stick to a roster after the jets have another rebuild 1 Quote

John from Riverside Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Happy for Wildgoose because he gets his opportunity Hate that we lost a player we drafted 8 Quote

Blank Stare Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I guess he really wants to play. So much so that he’d do anything like sign with the Jets. 1 Quote
Orlando Buffalo Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I am actually surprised that we have not had anyone else poached yet. Good for him. Quote

It seemed that he needed some work but that there was potential there Quote

Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I can't remember another year when we had this many players signed off our practice squad. I think that just shows how much depth this roster has. 2 1 Quote
NewEra Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Good thing we took him over Trey Smith! Wooooo! 1 1 Quote

I've said this before, but the difference to a player between PS salary and a rookie minimum salary on the 53 man roster is significant https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-practice-squad-salary-2021-how-much-do-players-make/ar-AAOgVLB Quote As per the NFLPA's CBA, practice squad players make $9,200 per week or $165,600 per the whole season. In the case of veterans with 2+ years of experience, that number jumps to $14,000 weekly or $252,000 per 18 weeks. https://careerexplorerguide.com/nfl-rookie-salary/ Rookie minimum of $660,000 per week is $36,000/week. So for a guy on the practice squad, that minimum of an extra $80,400 (for the required 3 weeks on the active roster) is kind of a big deal, even if it means you have to play for the Jets....it's like a 50% raise in income. 2 4 Quote

Not to mention opportunity and getting tape out there for the rest of the league to see what you can do. 1 Quote
FilthyBeast Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I'll definitely give this front office credit for losing two of their late round picks that were stashed on the practice squad by midseason. But at the end of the day the odds of these guys panning out in the league are slim to none and kind of feel sorry for Wildgoose to leave a team like the Bills for a dumpster fire like the Jets. Money aside, I don’t blame the guy for going when opportunities in this league can be fleeting. Just not sure I’m making that leap of faith for the Jets. Quote
