Still smarting after the Jags game and yes it was great that the Bills "righted the ship".

But the question is whether the Jets are just so bad that the game really showed nothing?

Not trying to be confrontational, however still bothered by the Tennessee loss and what I thought was a ho hum performance vs. Miami and abysmal one vs. Jax.

Sunday will tell a lot.

Let me guess....if the bills should happen to win on Sunday.....then the next game will tell a lot....

Not sure if the OP is mentally challenged or just being a troll.

Regardless, I will take the bait. The win proves many things:

1. The importance of rookie OT Spencer Brown. He missed the Jacksonville game, which caused Williams (who is much better at RG this year than RT) to move outside and Ford (who should not be on the football field, period) to play RG. Both Brown and Williams were back in their desired spots and played quite well against the Jets, whose DL is not bad. Without pressure in his face, Josh was much more effective this week than he was against Jacksonville when the protections broke down quite often.

2. The importance of TE Dawson Knox. Knox did not have a stellar game by any stretch of the imagination in terms of stats. However, he was quite effective as a blocker, and his presence in the passing game forced the Jets defense to account for him. That, of course, meant more room underneath for the RBs. He was out against the Jags -- and their defense was not worried in the slightest about Sweeney.

3. The importance of presenting the threat of a running game -- even if the running game itself is not especially effective. In Jacksonville the Bills really didn't even try to run the ball. Against the Jets they stayed committed to it. Eventually the rushing attack proved to be successful with four different players recording a rushing TD. It also opened things up for play action passing, where Josh was lethal.

4. The importance of Matt Breida. Maybe there is enough room on the game-day roster to ensure that MB remains active. He brought an added dimension that neither Moss nor Singletary possess.

5. The importance of ball security. Against the Jags the Bills lost the turnover battle 3-1. Against the Jets, they won it 5-2.

6. The importance of receivers catching the ball when it hits them in the hands. Beasley and Davis had critical drops in the Jacksonville game. Both caught pretty much every catchable pass against the Jets. Davis, in fact, made a couple of sensational receptions against the Jets.

7. The importance of a smart game plan -- and proper overall execution. Kudos to the coordinators for putting together much better game plans against the Jets than they did the week before against the Jags. In fairness, LF did fine against the Jags, as his defense held them to just 9 points despite the turnovers and overall lack of success of the offense. BD made much better adjustments this week than he did against the Jags and was smart to stay patient with the running game.

8. The reality that all NFL teams -- even the worst -- still have uber talent. That's why anything can happen on any given Sunday. These same Jets also beat the Bengals and Titans. The Bucs just lost to the WFT. A week ago we lost to the Jags. It happens.

So, yes, the victory over the Jets proves MANY things.

Yes it proved no one needs to think about the Jags game ever again.  Off day, it happens to everyone, this is the NFL.

I asked a question as my concern is that this was the Jets.  When I posted concerns in how the Bills played vs. Miami, was told to quit belly aching.  Then came Jax.

Sorry this I think is worthy to discuss.

Its fine but at the end of the day, I don't think you and many others aren't looking for honest opinions of the team.

Maybe you actually are - who knows.

I think a certain portion of our fan base gets giddy when the Bills don't live up to the hype and jump too quickly to the "the team is terrible - prove me wrong" mentality. It gets tired. I don't think every win defines the Bills and I dont think every loss does either. No one will care that we lost to the Jaguars if we won the super bowl, and no one will care that we have a positive record if we don't do anything post season. In the end just enjoy the ride.

I want the Bills to go 20-0......  Never happy with a loss.

I was not happy with the Dolphins game and completely disgusted by the Jags game.  Yes the Bills did way better vs. the Jets, just unsure if it was a good barometer, as their defense has been so bad the last 4 weeks, and thus I asked.

I don't take the result of the game as a sign of anything, but I do draw optimism from the different looks the offense presented. Not many teams will give us 3 TD drives in 1 quarter but the Bills installed a new offensive philosophy and after knocking off the rust suddenly looked more explosive than they have all year. The opponent doesn't matter. Only the Bills offense can beat the Bills offense. With the scheme we showed on Sunday I believe we can score on anyone.

Actually you are on record saying you'd be happier with a Bills loss with a 300 yard passing game from Josh than a Bills win without the 300 yard passing game.

So for me this Jets game (and your post)  proved what I already knew - you just post negativity hoping for a reaction. I will admit that I look forward to seeing what negative spin you try to put on each win and each loss - I find it amusing.

For any rational fan, no it proved nothing and shouldn't move the needle in terms of expectations of this team. I'm still deeply concerned about the fact this team has only one win against a team with a winning record and seems to struggle against most teams that have a few wins or more under their belt. And yes great teams usually have one hiccup along the way but still think the opening day loss against a very average at best Steelers team who just tied with the winless Lions at home is simply inexusable. And to need a second 'wake up' game against a very bad Jags team last week is very telling.

But this has been a weird season and it feels like whoever gets the hottest in Dec/Jan is going to win it all which you can argue just about half the league is in that bucket right now outside of a few teams currently riding momentum like the Pats and Titans.

Why don't people realize that the teams they beat have losing records BECAUSE THEY PLAYED THE BILLS 😡

And It didn't prove anything? It's a division win that is much needed w/ New England creeping up behind us.

Use your head, man. 😣

This is the “old Bills” mentality. We now have enough talent and depth that we don’t have to prove anything in terms of the teams we beat.

If we were on our A game, we will

beat every team in the league.

I will take the click bait.

The only thing it proved was McD can keep the distractions from affecting the players and he can get the team to regroup. Kudos to him.  Really nice job.

The real proof will be this weekend. Home AFC game against a good but not great opponent. Its a must win if they want to still get the #1 seed.  A win keeps them on track. A loss and there is nothing to refute the narrative that the Bills can't beat the good teams. #1 defense needs a better showing than they had at Tennessee.

Look.. all they can do is beat the opponent they are playing and the Bills certainly did that last weekend…

But what’s that means in the big picture…I think Kyle Brandt put it best when talking about  the jets game…

1. Do the Bills have a running game? We don’t know

2. Can the Bills stop a team with a running game? We don’t know

We will probably  know after this week though…

It proved the Bills are a far superior team to the worst team in the NFL.  They were also coming off getting their ass kicked by the 2nd worst team in the NFL, so to me, no it proved absolutely nothing.

go beat a team with a winning record.

I think it proved you need to beat the opponent in front of you that week.

You don't play the record just ask the Titans the Cowgirls,Tampa Bay,Green Bay,KC ect ect ect.
