Not trying to spoil yesterdays thumping of another bottom feeder, but there are a few issues that I perceive as puzzling at best in terms of the active gameday roster:

1) Matt Breida/Zack Moss - why did it take half the season to realize this guy should be active and getting snaps? Zack Moss has proven to be useless and we keep wasting carries on him for the same 2 yard gain almost every time he touches the ball. Should be Singletary/Breida the rest of the season without question. If they insist on dressing Moss then keep Taiwan Jones inactive.

2) AJ Klein - no he should not permanetly replace Edmunds, but this guy is a true grisled veteran that is always around the football. He proved it last year when he replaced Milano for a significant stretch and again this year when on the field. I get he's not the best in coverage but he's a throwback type of player....gritty and physical which is what this team needs more of.

3) Gabriel Davis - this is the trickiest one because obviously we can't really reduce the top 3 WR's snap counts but seems like all he does is make big plays when he's on the field.

4) Obada - seemed like he was very disruptive yesterday and had the only official sack of the game. Again another tricky situation because of the numbers game but if we are going to insist on giving former Panthers players playing time it should be him over Vernon Butler.

5) Punter is horrible and will cost this team down the stretch just like the Steelers game. Should have already found a replacement by now.

I’m all for a Singletary/Breida or Moss/Breida approach to the running game, but I don’t like Singletary/Moss as I feel they’re too similar. Would have liked to see one of the two moved, but I get it - we’re not getting much in return for either. Perhaps the mistake was drafting Moss a year after spending a 3rd on Singletary when both run in the 4.6s.

To the OP:  You'll run into huge resistance around here, as you have already done so (not surprising) regardless of the validity of your points.

Most responders will not have read them anyway.

hmmm.. 🤔 Who to believe? Sean McDermott or a filthy beast..

Tough call.

Do you honestly agree with some of these decisions though in terms of playing time/game day rosters??

On the Breida/Moss thing...  My guess is that McD and Daboll don't have a lot of confidence in the OL.

While Breida is faster, he's not hard to bring down.  He does best work in space and the Bills linemen don't create a lot of it.

Moss is a more powerful runner who can sometimes get yardage even when the line-of-scrimmage is dirty and crowded.

I don't understand this, seems like this forum would rather be a lovefest like the Bills lockerroom instead of addressing relevant issues at hand and asking serious questions like whether or not this team is good enough??

Maybe we should all just start posting instagram and ticktock videos here then.

So the only one I will take issue with is #5.  While he is a little bit slower to get his punt off, the block during the Steelers game happened because the Bills just forgot to block on that one.  He doesn't hit booming punts, but I don't think the Bills want him to.  To me, his most important job is on holds and he obviously is very good at that

Wait what? He's always active. You want Beane to come down and hold a gun to Josh's head to only throw to him?

It looked like Brieda was filling in for Kumerow on kick coverage. I think Jake should be the odd man out. Davis should get all of Kumerow's wr snaps.

And with Brieda in the lineup, McKenzie can be used more in the offense.

I don't mean active as much as getting more playing time....he's been a real threat downfield but obviously that's been an issue with this team most of the season in terms of oline protection and having enough time to look that way.

He's also a very good run blocker for 2nd year player.

I agree if you bring Brieda up you sit Kumerow down IMO. It is one or other.

Let's be clear about the punter. His real job is to have perfect holds for Bass, but he happens to punt as well. With this offense, I'd rather have a holder that gets it exactly how Bass wants it.

A little bit slower? That is like saying I am a little bit slower than Usain Bolt! I have had milk go sour in the time it takes Haack to punt

If these are our biggest mistakes with the roster, then we should all be thrilled with the FO and coaching performance.

1) There is something "off" about Breida that fans arent privy to. The Bills are now the 3rd coaching staff in about 3 years that brought the guy in, but decided against playing him much. Maybe he is fumbling in practice. Maybe he isnt answering the coach's questions properly. Maybe he dips his wings in ranch. We dont know, and we won't know, but I have a hard time putting that all on our coaches. Yes, it was nice to see him get involved if we are going to be swing passing it to the RB. And I have been calling for him to get some playing time for the past couple of weeks. But there is something the staff knows that we dont.

2) Having quality depth isnt an issue. lol This is actually a +1 for the FO/Coaching

3) Agreed he should have more playing time. Even if it is at the cost of Sanders and Beasley. Who probably need the rest at their age anyways.

4) Now THIS is a tricky one. Yeah, he had a decent game yesterday. But the game he suited up for previously (I believe Tenn), he had a HORRIBLE game. I was pleasantly surprised with him yesterday and just happy he wasnt a huge liability again.

5) I dont care about punting. Best solution: dont punt.

There’s reasons for a lot of these decisions:

# 1 - Breida was activated in Week 1 over Zack Moss and didn’t play great.   Moss is a tough runner and probably the best RB when it comes to blocking and maybe pass catching.  You can argue that they should’ve activated him a few weeks earlier given his speed.  We’ll see what he does the rest of the season.

#2 - Where would you play Klein?  Would you mix him in and take Edmunds off the field?  It’s a bad move if that’s the case.  Wasn’t a fan of Edmunds but he is having a great year.

#3 - This is a valid point.  Sanders has played well so it’s not like this was a no brainer. I’d like to see Davis get more reps.

#4 - Obada has been active for multiple games this season as hasn’t consistently been as disruptive as he was yesterday.

#5 - He’s a punter…not a big deal.  He’s doesn’t have the strongest leg.  I think they are keeping him because he does a great job as a holder for Bass and they don’t want to mess with that.  This one is not a big concern

1) what did the other two do yesterday that Moss didn't? There is your answer.

2) Agree to an extent. Heavy run teams like TEN and IND this weekend we should run more 4-3 base with Klein out there IMO.

3) Use Manny less and Gabe more. Get those two to a 50/50 split. Gabe needs more plays.

4) He was but it can't be him or Butler. They lack specialist DTs already with Zimmer done and Star out. It should be 2 from him, Boogie and Addison.

5) No argument.
