I personally love him and feel he's our QB of the defense for a long time but it would certainly be interesting if that hypothetical played out..

I want him to be that guy, but he just isn't and probably never will be. I get to see Bobby Wagner play most weeks out here and Edmunds is not even close to Wagner level of play. We all want Edmunds to be a difference maker but he is just an average middle linebacker that the Bills are probably going to overpay to keep.  I would let him walk and use the dollars elsewhere. You can find a high end replacement in the draft for far cheaper.

Hard to say really, but when it mattered, the Bills D didn't even slow down the Colts.  I can't imagine they'd have done worse with Edmunds in there.  In fact, its hard to imagine them doing worse at all, short of simply not taking the field

I doubt they would’ve done much better had Edmunds played against the Colts. Run defense has never been his strength and I know many of you would’ve blamed his failures due to Star being out.

They picked up his 5th year.  He is staying at least one more year.
