Apparently per link above, it was James Ferentz, who started for them at Center against KC, and who practiced Thursday.

I hope the NFL has a reasonable, consistent, and fair plan but they aren't exactly being transparent about their decision making process.

Well he has had over 500 snaps with the Pats* so I would think he may be a bit more valuable signing him to the PS than lets say

a guy like Austin Proehl.

Only 1 penalty in all those snaps.

subject to waivers or has accrued enough years to pick his team? Played at Iowa, bounced around the league a lot but been with NE since 2017. Probably played with Boettger on the Hawkeyes.

If they released him there's probably a reason, but you can never have enough OL.

All players are subject to waivers after the trading deadline.

Apparently has the ability to play all three positions. Plus, Intel on Pats.

Does anyone need Intel on the Pats?

Their gameplan is pretty straight forward. Defense, run ball, control clock and make 3rd downs manageable for rookie QB. Done.

He's the son of Kirk Ferentz from Iowa who McBeane have a close relationship with so I could definitely see us putting in a claim for him.

Subtle intel from an offensive lineman with the team for a number of years and active for two games this year re: silent counts, hand signals, what to expect as far as play calls in certain down and distances, deception, how they cheat*.

Ferentz was a coach for Belichick in Cleveland and is close with him. May be a case of a low talent player benefiting from his dad’s connection to BB.

We're not going to find any upgrades at this point. I know everyone is frustrated with the oline, but with the NFL wide olineman shortage, anyone worth a shot is on a roster.
