N.Y. Covid Cases Top 20,000 for Daily Record as Shutdowns Spread

(Bloomberg) -- New York state is experiencing a dramatic spike in Covid-19 cases, driving a fresh wave of school closings, work-from-home migrations and business disruptions.

The virus isn't driving Shutdowns.  Cowards are.

Those boosters should get cases down just like the first 2 shots you got 6 months ago did.

Pfizer executives say Covid could become endemic by 2024

Covid will become an endemic disease as early as 2024, Pfizer executives said Friday, meaning the virus will transition from a global emergency to a constant presence causing regional outbreaks across the world — much like the flu.

Covid-19 would reach the endemic level when populations have enough immunity from vaccines or from prior infections to keep transmissions, hospitalizations and deaths under control even as the virus circulates.

"When and how exactly this happens will depend on the evolution of the disease, how effectively society deploys vaccines and treatments, and equitable distribution to places where vaccination rates are low," Pfizer chief scientific officer Mikael Dolsten said. "The emergence of new variants could also impact how the pandemic continues to play out."

The timing of Covid's transition to an endemic state could vary from place to place, according to Dolsten.

"It seems like over the next year or two, some regions will transition to an endemic model while other regions will continue in pandemic mode," Dolsten said.

‘SNL’ COVID-19 outbreak cancels Paul Rudd live audience: ‘Everyone is fearful’

Saturday night may not be so live from New York this week.

The Post has learned that “Saturday Night Live” was on the verge of canceling tonight’s final episode of the iconic sketch show’s 2021 season due to an in-house outbreak of positive COVID-19 cases.

When you move to SEC America from the deep blue dumps, you cannot vote for 50 years.

Ok maybe after 10 years in re education camps then you can.

Meanwhile, Emperor Fauci appears on the POLITICAL shows for scripted softball questions

Anthony Fauci on Sunday predicted increased hospitalizations during the winter but was also hopeful that children will be able to remain in schools.

"We are going to see a significant stress in some regions of the country on the hospital system, particularly in those areas where you have a low level of vaccination," he told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

As the country neared Christmas and New Year's, more and more people have recently become infected with Covid-19, including breakthrough cases among the vaccinated. The U.S. officially hit 800,000 Covid deaths while averaging about 1,300 deaths per day.

On ABC's "This Week," Fauci, President Joe Biden's top medical adviser, was asked by Jonathan Karl whether he expected a need for the type of lockdowns the nation experienced last year.

"When you look at Omicron and what it's doing, the protection from like a two-dose mRNA vaccine is quite good particularly against severe disease but when you get to Omicron, the protection significantly goes down," Fauci said on CNN. "But the good news is when you boost someone, it goes right back up, and that's the reason why there's such an emphasis on the part of all of us."

Safety for children in schools has also been a major issue during the pandemic. Most schools throughout the country have transitioned back to in-person learning, but the new Omicron variant once again raises uncertainty for parents, teachers and students.

"Right now we can keep the children in school safely," Fauci said. "We are trying as best as we possibly can to keep the schools open for the reasons that you just gave correctly of the deleterious effects of having to close the schools down."
