I think it's the Cousins that targeted Diggs 450 times in the 4 years before he wept his way out of Minny.

Diggs got 55 targets less in his last season in Minny compared to his second last. Despite him posting a disgusting 17.9 YPC.

Diggs caught 70% of those passes in those 4 years.  With a much smaller number of targets in Buffalo, he's at 73% (65% this year).

I'm not sure I get your point. Were those passes in Minnesota 2-yard passes or 20-yard passes? Obviously some kind of combination of both. Using partial statistics is pretty useless.

He was, by almost double, the most targeted WR on that team in 2019, resulting in his highest yardage total while on the Vikings.

Cousins must be a magician then.  He somehow found a way to throw passes at the Vikings Diggs when he was playing for Washington.  They only played together for TWO YEARS!

Your analogy (hitting the fairway, not chipping and putting) alleged that Cousins wasn't "hitting" his Diggs target.  I was using the statistic that proved that not to be true.

His last season was 17+ ypc, so....probably not a lot of 2 yarders in there..

The most targeted WR on a team that was 30th in passing attempts with Diggs and Thielen on it.

I think you're missing some crucial info here.

lol oops you're right.  I will correct:

68% or targets caught out of 243 in 2 years.

The point is that he was, by a mile, the most targeted WR on the team before he left.

And he wasn’t happy with his number of targets and the direction of the offense. Because he lost 55 targets compared the next year, because they didn’t throw the ball.

He was #9 in targets the year before.  And yes, the drop in targets compared to the previous year was the well known (per him) for his displeasure.  The team wasn't throwing as much, but they were throwing to him over everyone else.  He wasn't being passed over.

true.  but keep an eye on those target numbers this year though...

Naw, he just wanted to get away from Cousins.  Have you seen the way he and Josh (still continue to) interact?

Why are you glossing over the change in the direction of the offense? You don’t think he knew they were running the ball and not passing? He should have been happy they basically stopped calling passing plays?

Diggs in 2019 had 6 games of 5 targets or less. ONE game where he got double digits targets.

In 2018, he had ONE game where he had 5 targets or less. 9 games where he got double digit targets.

Saying he was the most targeted on the team and thus had no grounds to complain is asinine.

No doubt he likes Josh better.  Who wouldn't?

But you can't say he just didn't like Cousins or "the direction the Offense was going".  Diggs was happier in 2018 despite being on an 8 win team because he was racking up stats (except yards).  A year later, he can't hide his displeasure on a team that won 10 games and a playoff game.  It was all about Diggs and his targets in Minny .  Perhaps he has changed.

See above.  Diggs was fine racking up the targets on a dud team the year before.  In 2019 they get to the playoffs despite that Offense's issues---and he had a tantrum DURING that playoff win--complaining about his touches!

I surely hope we do NOT re-sign him.  He said, emphatically, that he would be riding  off into the sunset if we won the SB this year.

Dudes going to come in, win a Lombardi and retire if our OL and coaching staff allows it.

Then after that, Beane and McDermott will ask him....."Hey Manny, do you want to win back-to-back Super Bowls?"

Because Diggs knows that when a guy is averaging 17.9 YPC, you GET HIM THE BALL. lol.

They put up 10 points in the 49ers playoff game and Diggs only got 5 targets. He got 2 targets the week before.

Shocked he was pissed.

If the direction the offense was going meant fewer targets, sure that would have been a problem for him.  And as last year showed, you target him more and he'll produce and the team will do well.  Maybe he just needed to get that off his back, I don't know?  But the bond between him and Josh appears special and likely to weather any decrease in targets, especially as long as they're winning.

Was he desperate to get away from Cousins in 2018, when he was top 10 in targets?  Nah.  And obviously his 18 ypc would not have been sustainable over 120+ targets.  He's never come close to that (12 per so far in Buffalo).

He was only concerned in the direction of the Offense as it  pertained to his stats.

This is weird.  My impression was that Josh was struggling a little on deep throws this year.  Apparently not!

Nobody in the league has attempted more throws of 30-plus air yards than Allen, who has lofted 14 of them.  On those 14 plays, he has nine completions, which have accounted for 375 yards and two touchdowns. That's a 147.3 passer rating.   Only Prescott's is higher (149.3), and he's attempted less than half as many throws as Allen, going 4 of 6 for 163 yards and two touchdowns.   Allen completed four of these passes against the Chiefs alone.  Only four other players have more than four of these completions on the entire season.

Sadly Josh doesn’t know how to find Sanders at times. Josh still hasn’t hit the upper medium to long shot throws. He doesn’t have the Cousins long ball touch yet. Not sure if he’s ever going to be a touch passer on the deep shots.

We need a Hill type receiver to compliment the WRs we already have. Diggs Sanders Beasley and a “Hill” type receiver.

And yet we still lead the NFL in scoring. Pretty amazing.
