Trubisky is a FA at the end of the season. I don't see someone trading a lot of capital for that. I don't see this happening at all.

I actually think this deal makes a ton of sense. Fitz is hurt rn but he loves Buffalo, he’s going to be the backup regardless if he’s in Buffalo or Washington and Washington gets a QB they can see if he can be their future. Bills get backup insurance plus a mid round pick for their troubles

We need Allen for the playoffs and to win the Super Bowl. Mitch could definitely keep things rolling in the regular season.

I'm sure that was the reason he was signed - the Bills were an erg or two away from losing Josh Allen for 3-4 games last season (and perhaps could have gotten better play from a good backup).  We wound up splitting those games, 2-2.  You want a backup who could at least do the same.

 

The year the Eagles won the Superbowl, they had a good backup.

 

On the other hand...if Washington could trade us a quality piece that would put us over the top in exchange for a quality piece that would help them, Fair.

I could be wrong,  but I think Greg S means we would still win enough games to make the playoffs and have a shot at the Superbowl when Allen comes back (as opposed to missing the playoffs and sitting on the sofa come January)
