5.3   yard average

0 passing TDs

1 INT

4 rushes  10 yards

1 rush TD

Tua QBR;  68

Josh

69%  completion

249 yards

5.9 yard average

2 passing TDs

Can someone please explain to me how Josh beats Tua in every statistical category and finishes with a lower QBR?  QBR is worthless.

Not exactly. Tua had an INT while Josh had 0...

It’s always been worthless, but this makes zero sense at all.  In the past I thought they weighed yards per attempt too heavily. But Josh beat him in that stat also.

Didn’t ESPN create that stat? That could be the answer.

I don’t think there is anything to add beyond that. ESPN is fading like Sports Illustrated, remember them? They are  BOTH hot garbage.

ESPN college basketball recruiting is inferior to what some middle school kids can produce. They should be embarrassed and just shut that down. The last decent thing they had was Mike & Mike, and they managed to ruin that.

  • Inigo Montoya changed the title to QBR is worthless; Tua higher than Allen

Actually, in this game it was Allen that was throwing the short s*** passes & Tua that was throwing down the field (at least somewhat).  Allen only had 1 20 yd completion whereas Tua had like 3 (including the 40 yder).

I'll concede by the eyeball test, no way could you say Tua had a better game than Allen.  But, possibly based on some sort of "yds completed down the field metric" (that ignores TD passes & INTS ;) ) I could see how you would rate Tua's performance superior.

Tua had more ypc.  Way overrated stat in qbr

I have never heard anybody talk about yards per completion. It’s always yards per attempt.  But that would be an explanation for Tua to rank higher since that’s the only statistic in which he beat Josh. It’s a dumb explanation, but it’s an explanation.
