RVJ Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I'll bet he can't wait to chisel his next masterpiece. Over 15 teams have sent Scouts to check out Geir in action this past season with most coming away pretty impressed. Game Analysis: punishing run blocker… shows good strength… technique is not that great though… tends to use brute strength and quickness at the I-AA level but will have to become better in form to take his game to the next level… has a good stance… gets off the ball quick… does a good job of driving his feet… seems to pancake his opponent just about every play… finishes his blocks off… very smart… just needs to be worked with by a position specific trainer on technique… http://testhealthclub.com/pages/club/news_gudmundsen.html
Dan Gross Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Sounds like great raw material...except for the fact that he considers golf and poker sports.
Snorom Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 More then likely he will see a year on the practice squad before he is ready. McNally has been recruiting Gusmundsen since his days with the Giants

So if Michael Jordan took up pool as a hobby and laid down big bets and lost that automatically makes pool players athletes? Darts? Shuffleboard? Marbles?
zow2 Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 If the guy was so good why did he go to 1-AA Albany? They stink in football.
JimBob2232 Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 If the guy was so good why did he go to 1-AA Albany? They stink in football. Obviously he is not "so good". I dont think anyone is claiming that he is. He does however have a TON of potential. Miami doesnt want potential, Syracuse doesnt want potential, they want guys who can step in and compete. Maybe it boils down to money. Perhaps he got a scholarship at SunyAlbany and nowhere else because he is too raw.

Athletes can certainly be defined by their golf skills, you can tell Peyton is all-around athlete by his smooth swing on ESPN. As for poker, its just a great time with teh guys.
RVJ Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 Whens the last time we had an all pro coach. Well McNally fits that profile. I also think Wade Philips was another one that we had. When he was the DC under Levy. And the only other one that I can think of is Ted Marchibroda. And I almost forgot...Tom Catlin.

Dennis in NC Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Has anyone here tried "speed golf"? It was a fad a few years back. You run around the course, shoot as quickly as you can (try to calm down!!!), so speed is a factor as well as score. Sounds a bit like the olympic biathlon with x-c skiing and shooting.
