I know ESPN and the media will throw together Henry’s highlights, and yes he admittedly is VERY fun to watch and very clearly a special player. I wish he was a Bill.

But with one man to beat, a touchdown saving play was made last night by Micah Hyde. A play that won’t get praise anywhere. A play that he will probably get clowned for on TV. But if Micah doesn’t sacrifice his body to slow down Henry in the open field, that’s a TD. Instead, it’s a big gain cleaned up by Edmunds.

I loved it. Would have been easy to go for the arm tackle business decision. Maybe you stop him, maybe he breaks it, but instead Micah threw his body in Henry’s way and took a big smack that almost certainly hurt him way more than it hurt Henry.

I hope McD gives him his flowers today when they go over the tape. That’s a guy I can root for any day of the week.

Looping back here......Hyde in fact got some Propers on the Pat McAfee show, with former LB AJ Hawk and Pat McAfee both calling that out as a baller play:

Retired CB/Safety Will Blackmon also gave Hyde his Propers for that play:

That's a Clinic on how to do an open field tackle on a best-of-the-best RB

However, I got to point out that Rousseau got caught with his trousers down on that one.  Just overpursued then took a bad angle.

Hyde should get a bonus check for teaching how to tackle during practice,

I can just imagine how many broken bones my 62 year old body would have if I tried to do that…, 😁

Mr. Hyde attempts a open field tackle on the next episode Man vs Tank.

Spoiler alert: makes the play and still gets poked at by talking heads.

Micah Hyde is a badass!  What an open field tackle!  If I was McDermott(I bet he did) I
would play that over and over for the Bills in film room. Textbook TD saving tackle.  Players were out of position which made long run possible- and put Micah in tough situation.  Micah manned up and took care of business.  Standing Micah>Henry running 21 MPG

It's all physics and Micah knew that. It wasn't like when big Edmunds lined Henry up for a direct take on. Micah knew what he was about to absorb and he was all for it! Must deserved props!!!
