or maybe don't give up 2 1sts for a safety who can't cover or tackle and then make him the highest paid  at his position.

They could've flexed it but assumed Russ would've played since they have to make the call 12 days in advance.

Id say Seattle is the exception, rather than the rule, when it comes to “elite” QB’s and their teams success.  
 

Russ is overhyped and they stay making dumb moves around him.
