JohnNord Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 (edited) Something fun going around Twitter. Based on the list below rank the Bills starting QB’s since Jim Kelly retired. After Josh it’s a crap shoot and then the next five it gets really interesting. Here’s mine: Josh Allen Drew Bledsoe Kyle Orton Doug Flutie Tyrod Taylor Ryan Fitzpatrick Rob Johnson Kelly Holcomb EJ Manuel Trent Edwards J.P. Losman Todd Collins Matt Barkley Alex Van Pelt Matt Cassel Derek Anderson Thad Lewis Jeff Tuel Nathan Peterman Brian Brohm Edited October 16, 2021 by JohnNord Quote

Losman Todd Collins Matt Barkley Alex Van Pelt Matt Cassel Derek Anderson Thad Lewis Jeff Tuel Nathan Peterman Brian Brohm I don't disagree too much with your list, but I'd put Flutie above Bledsoe and Losman above Manuel. Flutie got us to the playoffs a couple of times and if he'd played in the music city miracle game I think we would have won. Losman gets a lot of abuse, and most of it is warranted, but I've always had a soft spot for him. His deep passes were something else, just the rest of his game that sucked. EJ on the other hand was just a nothing QB to me. Never did anything exciting and never did anything particularly well, at least from my memory. Tyrod probably deserves to be higher simply because he helped end the drought, which I'll always be grateful for. 5 1 1 Quote
BuffaloBillies Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Top Tier (star): Josh Allen Middle Tier (Serviceable): Doug Flutie Drew Bledsoe Kyle Orton Tyrod Taylor Ryan Fitzpatrick Bottom Tier (Mostly Bums - this list makes me cry a little): Rob Johnson Kelly Holcomb EJ Manuel Trent Edwards J.P. Rico Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Please add Brain Dead Bledsoe to the bottom tier, thanks. 1 1 1 4 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Some former Bills QB hot takes: -Brian Brohm never got a fair shake. -I'm convinces Nate Peterman and Jeff Tuel were the same guy. -Likewise AVP and Kelly Holcomb were the same guy. -Kevin Kolb was sabotaged -If we could have taken JP's arm, Trent Edwards brain and put them on EJ Manual we would have had a good QB. -Matt Barkley is a good dude. I hope to see him play the 4th quarter when we are far ahead Monday. -Tyrod was a great athlete. But an average QB. Can win with him, but rarely because of him. -Ryan Fitzpatrick is extremely overrated by many Bills fans. He was fun to watch, is a terrific guy and creates some excitement...but was never going to be "the guy". 2 1 Quote
RobbRiddicksTDLeap Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Tuel, Peterman, Brohm. God that’s hard to believe. I remember banging the drum for Brohm. I really had a lot to rethink about my ability to judge players. 1 Quote
Mr. K Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Matt Barkley is at the top of my list only because his reaction to renegade in Pittsburgh. That is only a joke but Allen is in a league all his own compared to the past. Fitz Tyrod and Bledsoe come next and the rest were no great shakes. Glad we dont live there as fans anymore Quote

uninja Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Good lord other than a handful of names that’s just a murderer’s row of mediocrity. Feel like I forgot that half those names even started games for the Bills, which frankly tells you everything you need to know. No wonder the highlight of most fans during the drought was to get blackout drunk on Labatt’s and dive bomb onto a flaming table off of the roof of an RV. 1 1 Quote
artmalibu Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Fitz would have gotten the Bills to the playoffs in the Orton year imo...... . 1 1 Quote

SMAKCruiser Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Orton over Flutie?? Lol. Flutie should be no worse than 3rd... I'd even debate he should be second. 4 1 4 1 Quote
CSBill Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Peterman has to be at the bottom. But yeah, where is Billy Joe, one of my all time favorite terrible Bills QBs. 1 Quote
mushypeaches Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 I don't care what anybody says - watching the gutless wonder, Captain Checkdown, Trent Edwards was a soul-sucking experience. He may not have the worst record of the bunch, but he was truly the freaking worst 1 1 Quote
