Lol, remember some months ago it was "reported" he and Bills would have deal and signed within 48 hrs....well turns out it's a blessing in disguise considering how Knox is breaking out

So Knox says the usual answer, he just worried about what he could control.  Well, the list of things he can control includes how well he himself plays.  He worked really hard in the offseason, even consulting a vision specialist, and just like Josh Allen after Allen's summers of work, he got better, a lot better.  If he had stayed at last year's level, maybe McBeane make the trade for Ertz.  The point is, Knox DID act to control the situation, by working really hard and becoming a better player.

It made sense to debate a trade at the time. Now, with the emergence of Dawson Knox, it's throwing money at an aging asset.

 

Assuming things hold I see a lot of Diggs, Davis, Beasley, Knox and Singletsry as our base set.

Still need another TE and now that Ertz is a FA not sure how much he will really demand on a 1 year deal. We currently have 1 (!) viable TE (Gilliam is a FB on the field) and he’s on an expiring contract. 
 

I don’t care if it’s Ertz but they need to sign someone. Sweeney et al ain’t it

Dawson had a better season statistically than Ertz.  Yes he would be an excellent backup for a season or possibly 2 TE sets of the Bills so choose.  Dawson has come a long ways from the big bruising TE with butter fingers.

There is no denying who is the better, younger player at this point with the greater runway. Ertz would be TE 2. Daboll only used 1 but that may have been because he only had 1, and we don’t know what Dorsey wants to do.
