LeGOATski Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 This was reported a month or so ago. I think it's lame. 3 Quote
Success Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Seems kind of gimmicky. I like tradition - playoff weekends are some of the best sports weekends that we have. That 1st weekend when there is a full slate on Saturday & on Sunday. It's probably not my wife's favorites weekend, but it's fantastic for football fans. Adding a game on Monday isn't a huge deal, but I don't like it. Quote
Greg S Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Don't like it. Playoffs should be Saturday and Sunday. Having a Saturday night game last year was great. 2 1 Quote
uninja Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Like Josh said about the franchise tag: “ew” 1 Quote
Chandler#81 Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 It’s been previously discussed in another thread. Quote
Bills fan since 87 Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Just another reason to get that bye and miss the chance of playing in that game Quote

Yup, same meal served in a different dish…, many will be fooled into thinking it’s something new, when in fact it is not more than an inconvenience for the viewing customers. Quote
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Wait til a team wins a monday night playoff and then has to play the next Saturday afternoon on the road against a team that has had 2 weeks rest. 1 1 1 Quote
Ya Digg? Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Seems incredibly unnecessary and a huge disadvantage to the team that wins. Best case scenario they play 6 days later, and the teams that win on that Saturday wild card weekend have an extra 2 days off that they didn't get. Dumb, just dumb - although that hasn't stopped the NFL in the past 1 Quote
Gugny Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 It sucks. And it sucks even more that it's the ESPN crew calling the games. I can already hear that a-hole Steve Levy yelling at me for no good reason for 4 hours. Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 If we’re the #1 seed and play a team on a shortened week of rest, love it. But otherwise, hate it Quote

Yeah, I want to watch all games in succession on Saturday and Sunday. The way God intended. 2 1 Quote
The Wiz Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Really surprised that they would handcuff a team to possibly having a very short week (possibly playing on Saturday) unless it's built into the schedule that the Monday night winner wont play until the following Sunday. Quote
First Round Bust Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 more prime time games = better ratings and more cash for all, and strengthens espn MNF brand which goes for another 12 years so espn was all over that....they decided they can live with the disruption of delayed scheduling which they will use for marketing and hype, and the winner likely plays the next Sun not Sat so that gives back rest and prep for that MNF winner, all at the cost of one weekend game Quote
