However, bacon in the midst of the cheese in a grilled cheese sandwich is awesome.

this really is the money.  a lot of pubs by us do this and make it with sourdough bread.  they call if the adult grilled cheese, and it's amazing.  it makes pb&j look like a crack ***** from florida.
