Nothing against previous Owners, GM's or coaches. But the Bills have the holy triumvirate right now, and for the foreseeable future.  A smart owner who stays out of the way & gives a GM everything he needs to succeed;  an elite GM who favors smart over splashy, plans for today & for the future, and has built a true contender that is set up for a multi-year run, if not longer;  and a great coach who motivates, gameplans with the best of them, and makes appropriate adjustments when needed in the game.

Things are looking good.  It is a great time to be a Bills fan.

More like a quadumvirate (I just made that up).  You forgot Josh.

It was impressive that he and his staff kept that team focused on the task at hand during a 1 hour break.  Cannot say anything remotely negative tonight about McD.

The offense clearly wasn't ready for the second half.  What was impressive was how they cranked it up when they needed a drive to end the game.  Great focus, no panic.

One other thing, McDermott and Frazier are brilliant. The Bills didn't blitz Mahomes once this game. They took the '2 deep' strategy that everyone has been talking about against Mahomes and improved it. They always seem to manage to find a defensive gameplan that works.

KC rans almost 80 plays. I know it's crazy, but I think they almost tried a 'reverse' ball control strategy. Make KC's offense stay on the field as long as possible before they score instead of trying to have their offense stay on the field.

It's actually exactly what a bend but don't break defense strives to achieve.

Make them earn every yard, increase the odds of mistakes by increasing the sample size of play, and compress in the end zone to make it difficult to capitalize with TDs.

I heard that Chuck Norris is afraid of McD

They were gonna rename OBD McDermott way, but no one crosses McDermott and lives to talk about it….

the process is strong in this one…

And the King of the gamesmanship timeouts.  So good at calling one in big moments on D so the other offense has to then bring out their second best play if you know I mean.  He did it tonight and I could see the look on Mahomes’ face because he knew exactly what happened.

I love it in the first half too.  As Al michaels was saying "This is the first time all night they are bringing their safeties into the box" he burns a time out.  He wants to see what youll do for next time!

He's definitely been steadily upping his game.

Wasn't that long ago that all-around bad 3rd quarters were a regular thing........tonight they endured an hour break in a hot, sh*tty locker room on the road and they didn't come undone.

Stacking positives is great to see.

Losing challenges was a glaring issue for awhile as well. I don't even know if that has been fixed yet, but at least it's not costing us ballgames in 2020 and 2021.

He's just crushing virtually every aspect of his job .

Whether it's preparation, game management, keeping guys focused, whatever, he's owning it all.

His guys don't get distracted by weird stuff (i.e. officiating, weather, turnovers, etc) and just keep executing instead.

He gooses Daboll when he needs to.

He works clocks like a 20 year vet.

Everybody trusts everybody else.

He makes sure Beane understands exactly what he needs.

The team is always getting better.

He makes Leslie Frazier an even better coach.

He's a viable Coach of the Year candidate moving forward.

I 100% agree.

Im not really sure what “gooses” means, but I’m betting i’d agree if I knew what it was lol

IMO a huge difference maker in a manager/leader. No job should be "beneath you".  A great manager is someone who helps you get your job done, not one who makes it more difficult.

Putting it politely, a "goose" is a wakeup call. A tweak. Trust me, if you have ever been "goosed" you'd get it, and agree.

I suppose I should mention for clarity's sake, a real "goose" happens below the waist.

It's hard to criticize anything about this coaching staff right now and it's not crazy to say McD might be the best coach in the NFL right now, top 3 at worse.

Going to be interesting to see how he responds next year because regardless of how this season ends for this team, it's probably safe to safe both Frazier and Daboll will be gone next year as HC's for another team.

We may indeed lose them to HC positions.  I do agree that McDermott has a list of potential coordinators to replace either if they move on.  You can bet he will have solid replacements.  Of course a new oc or dc might make some changes but really having new wrinkles with the we talent we have is a good thing as it means tape will not be enough to solve the Bills going forward as well.  All the plays the team has mastered offense defense both is not wasted in a change just gives our players more versatility for a new OC or DC to add to.  Not like with Daboll gone Josh will suddenly  forget how to read defenses.  They may even have the right candidates already on staff.  Least of the concerns is whether or not McDermott will chose the right replacement.  Certainl, chose wisely when he felt a change was needed from Dennison, he brought in Daboll.  That turned out well so no reason to think Sean suddenly won't know how to chose from those he gives an interview to.

Also as Josh gets more and more experience and knows how to counter different defensive looks they don't need to find a OC that can groom a rookie qb they have the Franchise QB. Part of that is the QB is proven enough he has some input into offensive direction so its not like they'll hire someone that is gonna wanna change things drastically.  It's a different interview when your trying to replace a successful  coordinator thats taken a promotion than filling the position after a failure and need to fix that side of the ball.

McDermott and Beane. Let's give some respect to the kick ass GM, too

I know Beane is a big part in this success but I would believe he's hands off when Sean is picking his staff.

Beane is in charge of player acquisition based on what traits Sean and coaching staff want for their schemes but I'd be shocked if Beane had any say other than if his opinion is asked by Sean.

Now when they need replacement players then the 2 are both involved as the contract terms and cap are all under Beanes responsibilities. Staff isn't part of the cap so he has no input based on his responsibility.

Not sure I agree. My guess is they work very closely together on any hire/pickup. I'm thinking McDermott is way to involved in the day-to-day coaching of the team to keep close track of who is probably available, who is up and coming, etc. That is technically Beane's job as GM. I'm not suggesting Beane would hire something without McDermott's buy in. But I can't imagine McDermott hiring someone without Beane's input. Just doesn't make sense, in such a well oiled management system.

Lol I think at this point with Nick's record regarding his bills predictions I'm thinking I never want to hear him picking and praising the Bills.
