If you have, you wouldn’t have started this thread because you’d know why. 🤷♂️ Of the players charted, there was a baseline of 50 or more pass rush snaps. I don’t have the breakdown for how often our ends or tackles have rushed, or played the run, versus dropping back in coverage, but here are the total snap counts for each defender most often tasked with rushing the passer. I’d be willing to bet many of them cross that 50 snap baseline as well, so the thread is relevant in my eyes. marky Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 The amount of plays per game works against these numbers. I'll like to see these numbers adjusted for that, so getting off the field doesn't work against you. Quote

Of course Clowney is worth it. He's a better pass rusher than anyone on the Buffablow roster. Brandon Beaner is NOT a good evaluator of talent. Buffablow never makes moves to get BIG NAME free agents. That's why they never get over the final hump to win a championship. Buffablow has been a bridesmaid but never the bride. They won't spend the extra dollars to finish the team to be a legitimate super bowl contender. It started with CHEAPO Wilson and it is continuing with the Cheapo Pegula. Pegula needs to drill another oil well if he wants a Lombardi trophy. You get what you pay for. 1 2 1 1 Quote

Bills do employ a heavy rotation, none of the lineman are on the field for more than 57% of the snaps, BUT because we’ve held decent leads, the opportunity to rush the passer has been greater, yet that hasn’t turned into an increase in sack production by the DL. Rousseau and Star lead the way with 2 sacks each and only Rousseau is in the top 50 in terms of pressure percentage. Quote
aristocrat Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Rookies take time to adjust. If they’re playing ok right now they should be lights out as season goes on and years to come. All on rookie deals so we can spend money elsewhere. Quote

It is interesting that Cam Heyward (12 pressures; single game high) and Deron Payne (10 pressures) wouldn’t be in the top 50 either if not for their monster performances against the Bills. Also, the 200KB restriction for images is so tiny! Not sure I’ve ever seen below 600KB, so apologies if the table comes in a little fuzzy. I remember seeing the bills having a similar ranking in this index last year despite lagging on the actual hard sack count. But outside of the Ravens playoff game this team struggled big time including against the Chiefs against what was a horrible oline in hindsight. Also this year outside of the Miami game I just don't see the impact I thought we'd get but it's still early. If there was ever a time to show up and have a real coming out party it's this week against the Chiefs. 1 Quote

I'd say the Biils ranking 6th indicate the investment HAS paid dividends. Why concern yourself with individual stats? Having TEAM success is far better than individual success, IMO. My one real concern is they haven't closed the deal enough with the pressure. But typically that takes care of itself, I think. Plus Rosseau is a ROOKIE who was supposed to need some seasoning. So this is all pretty much positive, IMO Quote

Buffalo Junction Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Not concerned yet. This team may not have a top edge rusher, but as a collective they’re shutting down the run and forcing QBs into bad decisions. They’re second in the league in INTs and first in total turnovers. I’ll take an interception over a sack every game. Quote
