Cowboys release Jaylon Smith

Seems like a lot of issues on and off the field. I think he won’t be out of work for long. I could see a lot of different teams offering him a one year deal.

For League Minimum on a 1 year deal and I would be on board. To see if he fits in the system. Maybe add a club option 2nd year in case he is.

He’s been a dog since entering the league.  Dallas took a chance on him with his injury and never lived up to it. I loved him at ND.  Too bad.  Pass.

I would pass. He was not very good last year -- and this year was relegated to backup duty. Honestly, I like what we have (even behind Edmunds and Milano) better.

I can find 7 players we can move off the roster and Bring Smith in for essentially Free (if he is willing to accept that from a SB Contender).

Surprised by some of the reactions here.   The guy is far from a bad player.   Has been incredibly more productive than Edmunds over a similar sample size.    Maybe he isn't an All-Pro, but he also wouldnt be a bad replacement level player to have.

As I said in the Gilmore thread.  If these players that get released are immediately linked to SB contenders like the Chiefs and Bucs, then we should ALSO as an organization that thinks we are SB Contenders should also be making our Calls to see.

Def an upgrade over dodson, probably klein as well.  There's a bit of a diva there for a linebacker that I'm not sure fit's culturally though   Perhaps this humbling experience will help him ditch that reputation.  But it's as likely he signs with KC or something.

Anybody currently on the team that was around for Gilmore days? Hughes it?  Different coaching, front office, environment.  Hes worn our jersey, but never played for "this team".  I hate the dude, but think hed have serious interest if he made a visit
