This game is all about Bills Offense coming in to the game relaxed and not try to play tense because it's KC. Allen needs to be calm at the start and focus to play KC's defense and not worry about what KC's offense. If Bills D can't make few key plays or stops in the game then bills won't win anyway but at least we need to see offense have some success and give themselves a chance to win the game.

I think it's all about the redzone.  Bills redzone O has not been good.  KCs redzone D has been downright horrible.  Bills need TDs; not FGs.  This should be a defense that we can do that against.  If so, we win.

both teams gonna be in the red zone alot, which team gets tds and not fgs gonna win this one. heck thats how chiefs win most of the time they punch it in and their D is just barely good enuff to force a few fgs. If i was McD i would go into this one with the mentality- as soon as you get inside the 20 its 4 down territory and we got to be able to pound it at em some when we down there so it aint all on josh to score. Eagles had plenty of chances to make that game alot closer and settled for FGs

I’d like to see us maintain the balanced offensive attack we’ve been using...if Josh thinks he has to be Superman going into the game, I think that’s where the anxiety might set in...

I feel like this is gonna be an odd cat/mouse game. The weakness of KC is their D, their strength is their O. Our strength is our D with our O being slightly weaker. How do you neutralize that on either side? Play small tactical ball, take the short stuff, good balanced attack between runs and short passes and play for TDs on long 6+ minute drives.

For KC that's their gameplan because it keeps our D on the field, tiring them out. It keeps our O off the field where they're not dicing up their awful D. For us its the same game plan because it keeps KC's O on the sideline and gives our D time to rest to force KC to play small ball and settle for FGs. I wouldn't be surprised if both teams came into this game with a very similar gameplan, for very different reasons.

Why on earth would we put our #2 CB on Tyreek Hill?

Because there is a belief,  based on the thrashing in the AFCCG,  that the Bills can't defend the Chiefs with zone and that they need to be able to play man vs KC.

Tre White can't run well enough to provide any challenge to Tyreek Hill in man.........we saw that mismatch in the AFCCG........White looked like he was running in sand against him.    You could argue, however that he might be able to really neutralize Kelce with his combination of coverage, physicality and ball skills.   For proof......he has done a good job when isolated on Gronk in the past.    We've even seen Antoine Winfield deployed and shut down Tony Gonzalez years ago.   This matchup is do-able.

That would have left the man coverage "specialist" Nelson on Tyreek Hill.

Which, as I said,  would still be a massive mismatch anyway.

Here's a question. If the Bills win the coin toss do you want them to receive or not? Chance to go up 7-0 but at the same time if the Bills D can stop them then its still a chance to grab the lead early and get the ball to start the 2nd half. Of course the risk is falling behind early if they defer.

Always take the ball at halftime.

Anyone thinking this could be a repeat of the 1992 Bills-49ers No Punt game?  Thinking our D is good enough to force a punt or two.  Not sure KC's is, KC had a no punt game against the Eagles last week.

Are we taking for granted just how tough a venue Arrowhead is to play in? Has been since it was opened. Especially in prime time, nationally televised games. We’ve gone in there with better Bills teams playing lesser KC teams during the glory years and got our assess handed to us. History, while having no relevance to this game, is not kind when it comes to playing at Arrowhead.

Hoping like hell for a win, but I’ll be shocked if we do. That said, the over reaction by national media and fans to a loss to KC  will be nearly insufferable. Just as it was when our SB team got blown out in KC, an October loss at Arrowhead will hardly be the defining moment of the season.

I hope we can keep that in perspective.

We've also went there with crap bills teams and absolutely destroyed them.

Not sure if this has been covered in this thread yet, but to me one of the biggest hurdles the Bills offense will need to overcome in this game (and the reason I have my doubts we can win in KC) will be -

KC's defense will do it just like they did in the AFCCG and allow the Bills offense to get set until there are 6 or 7 seconds left on the play clock and then shift into a different coverage (much like what the Bills D does to others), forcing a last second adjustment by Allen to communicate to the team while immense crowd noise is underway. If we don't have a better answer for that this season, the offense isn't going to be able to take advantage of any pre-snap mismatches.

I'm sure the team is aware of this and has attempted to address it, but we haven't seen it in action as of yet.

Not that this should be shocking to anyone but Mahomes is undefeated in his career when facing the #1 overall defense:

Mahomes is 4-0 against the #1 scoring defense and 2-0 against the #1 total defense in his career. The #bills rank 1st in both categories coming into Sunday.

lets not forget how the refs called that AFCC game.     Chefs CBs could hold all day while we couldnt barely touch anybody without the laundry being thrown.

It seems like most conference championship games for whatever reason are reffed that way. As some others have said, I think when that happens, its on the Bills D to follow suit and clutch/grab. I don't recall a lot of flags on our secondary in the AFCCG (more just wide open Chiefs all over the place) but I could be wrong.
