why in the world would he not just address the team, explain what happened, use this as a life lesson to the guys and move on.  i feel like he could have diffused this quickly, and he's just falling apart.  some guys just shouldn't leave college.

If he was actually a competant head coach, it certainly wouldn't be a fireable offense.  Bigger issue seems to be he has completely lost the locker room.

I still think it needn't have been a big deal if he'd handled it right. The way he has handled it really sucks.
