Everything is coming back down to earth. Just like expected

I would hold off on that. They are missing a few top players. When you don't have much depth it's going to hurt them a lot. They also have played 6 games in 8 nights. At least they are still scoring and giving effort every night.

For those upset on the losses, why not watch Rochester?

I was at the game tonight. Some thoughts.

  • Edmonton took it to the Sabres in the 1st. Sabres survived.
  • Skinner for Edmonton isn't very good on break aways.
  • Sabres really took McDavid out of his game. A lot of passes to the point, no one there, and clears the zone.
  • Tolarski played out of his mind in the later half of the 3rd.
  • $45 for 2 beers, a seltzer, and a water. Good times
  • I will never go to a game again where I could walk up to the beer counter, no line, grab a beer very quickly, in between periods. Same with the bathroom. Less than a minute wait each time I went.

We need Mitts and Olaffson back.

Yeah without a doubt! The power play has really been struggling without them (Olofsson especially).

Why do the Sabres seem to struggle with injuries every year?

When do Krebs and Tuch start playing?

Krebs may get a cup of coffee late season, but he should stay in Rochester and gel with Peterka and Quinn.

Tuch's recovery time from surgery has been speculated to take till late January. Olympic break is early February.

Tuch most likely returns in February. Barring injuries, I’d be surprised if Krebs gets brought up at all this season or at least until they are out of contention officially and they give the kids a look in April. I’m hoping Power signs and gets a few games after his college season as well around that time.

Tuch not for a few more months. Shoulder surgery. They want the young core to play together in Rochester for a while so also not till late in the year for Krebs & co.

Prices are what prices are at major league games these days. But I too enjoy the lack of crowds. It also seems like those at the games are the real hockey fans who know when and what to cheer or boo for.

Definitely. Once the first replay was shown of Edmonton's initial goal, everyone knew it didn't go in. Thankfully that was confirmed.

It was fairly obvious on tv too. It would have violated the laws of physics if it were in.

The one thing Krebs has working in his favor is that his entry level contract already kicked in. He played over 9 NHL games this season. So there’s no fear of burning a year off his ELC like there would be with Quinn and Peterka.

So I could see him getting more games in Buffalo because of that. I’m also fine with leaving him in Rochester for the year, or at least most of it.

‘Sources: Ducks GM Bob Murray placed on leave for ‘mental warfare,’ verbal abuse’

Quote

Multiple league and team sources tell Daily Faceoff that Murray is under investigation for allegations of creating a toxic workplace environment by way of his repeated verbal abuse and harassment of Ducks players, coaches and personnel, plus his intimidation tactics and temper tantrums that fostered a culture of fear throughout the organization.

“Working for Bob Murray was pure daily mental warfare,” one source said. “The abuse was endless. Crazy text messages to players and staff berating them for their performance and threats of job security happened with regularity. These weren’t one-time slip-ups or mistakes. These were regular explosions and eruptions.”

It is unclear how or why Murray’s behavior went unchecked for so long, given that so many people associated with the Ducks organization bore witness to it. This season marks Murray’s 45th consecutive year in the NHL; Murray was promoted to Ducks GM on Nov. 12, 2008.

Another source said: “There’s not just one skeleton in the closet here with ‘Murph,'” as Murray is known by his nickname around the NHL. “The list of people who have felt his wrath first-hand over the years is long.”

The loss tonight stings. Dell, Miller, and Butcher can pack their bags and leave immediately.

Playing Dell cost us a W, although the final goal was thanks to a defensive mistake.

No doubt Dell owns the lion’s share of the loss. He’s atrocious and I’m still trying to figure out why he didn’t have his stick on the ice when he lost sight of the puck when Hagg laid down in front of him on the first Leafs goal. But Miller gift wrapped their second goal because he couldn’t do his job and was stripped of the puck and made a few other piss poor plays as well. He’s in my doghouse.
