Why in the world would he do a sign & trade, that makes absolutely no sense on his part.  He is a free agent, if Beane wants to retain his rights he is going to have to franchise him which is obviously is not going to happen.

They can always tag him and force it.

C'mon, why you gotta do Mitch dirty like that? No QB deserves to be sent to play under Dan Snyder. It's a death sentence!

Not a lot of jobs available. I’d prefer he go back to the NFC.

Or, he can not sign it until the deadline. They either have to recind or hope they have a partner lined up who will pay Trubisky top 5 money,  which no one will.

You are right.  Dan $nyder is a Big Dingus!

Mitch needs try to pull a Tannehill. He'll find a team like Washington, Houston, Pittsburgh, maybe even the Giants- where he has a shot to take over, and I'd bet om him being successful.

I think it will also depend on him having a supportive coaching staff. Some of the negative media attention affected him while in Chicago and that will need to be something he is able to deal with also.

I mean look at the opinions here about Josh (Weeks 1 and 2) due to the need of instant gratification by some.

Is the comp pick based solely on $?  Anybody know how that works? Like specific tiers errrrrrr?????

no one knows exactly what the formula is. NFL keeps it a tightly held secret for some reason. (Belicheck has figured it out. He routinely trades for or signs vets toward end of season then watches them leave in free agency to help his formula=most years Pats lead the league in comp picks)

But yes the amounts you sign for do matter as does the round you were drafted in.

if you cut a player they no longer help you in the comp pick formula.

First thing that must happen for this to even matter is you must lose more comp pick eligible players to free agency then free agents you sign. So even if Trubisky signs for 1 billion dollars for 5 years it will not matter if Bills sign more Free Agents then they lose. This is why Bills did not get comp pick for losing Stephon Gilmore.

I think Mitchell will finish the year a Bill. I love the idea of Beane having more capital for draft time but unless its a first I dont think they risk solid backup QB who had the whole off-season in the program for Davis Webb or whoever else is available.

I am still shocked the bears didnt keep him and dump Nagy...Me thinks the problem wasn't the QB

Reading some of the articles and columns, you aren't the only one.

Yea while the exact formula is not known, money matters and number matters. In some situations playing time seems to matter too.

WTF needs a QB bad so does Houston.

They might ride it out with Heineken and Fitz this year in Wash.

The Texans have Tie Rod and he was doing ok until he got hurt

Signing Truebiscuit as a FA in the off season makes the most sense for both teams as they can save their draft picks for other needs.

BTW if the Bills did trade our victory formation specialist who would replace him? ;)

"Hi, this is Carl from Cheektowaga... I still think the Bills are making a mistake not giving him a start.  Allen has proven he's too inconsistent.  I'll hang up and listen..."

if the Bills showcase him in a meaningless end of season game

You mean like the Jags did with Rob Johnson? It's not like they managed to find anyone stupid enough to take the bait is it... oh, hang on

I think Washington will go after Trubisky in the off-season.  They need some QB competition and aren’t convinced Heinicke is the long term answer.
