From the article:

“Given how his numbers measure up against those of his peers (SEE: fellow member of the 2018 draft class Josh Allen; 89.7 passer rating, 70:32 TD-INT ratio), contract negotiations between the Ravens and their QB1 should be easy. A deal that ranks just above the six-year, $258 million extension Allen inked last month should serve as the floor for Jackson's next contract.”

Does this make you think, even more, that the Bills did the right thing by not waiting until season’s end to get the deal with Josh done?  Numbers for elite players go up year after year. If injury or other circumstances were to take the run game away from Jackson, I highly doubt the debate exists. I am glad the Bills do not have this dilemma.

Yes.  Beane and Josh were smart.

I agree, let them spend as much as they can,  A floor, sure but not much more than that unless unless he at leads gets to a championship game.

And Ravens are lucky they were not embarrassed by the lowly Detroit Lions yesterday so lets see how Lamar does this year.

And yes the Bills did the right thing signing J Allen, now we dont spend the entire seasons debating about his future.

Its kinda wild to think how close the Ravens are to being 0-3

The chiefs were well on their way to win that game until they fumbled the game away. And yesterday they needed a miracle to beat the lions. I would not be comfortable as a Ravens fan right now.

By the time Baker, Lamar and Tyler Murray sign their extensions Josh Allen's contract will look like a sweet deal.

While Baker may get more than Josh, he should not.  Hopefully Cleveland overpays.

Josh is not the athlete Lamar is and Lamar is nowhere near the passer Josh is. We've also had more success as a team overall being led by Josh than Baltimore has had with Lamar. Josh has accounted for more TD's and turned into the better overall player at this point, regardless of whether Jackson won an MVP or not. Josh's numbers last year were better than Lamar's MVP season. Personally I don't care what Baltimore throws at him. Like most are saying, the more the better because it takes away from their cap. Bucky has been negative about Josh for a long time so I just chalk up whatever he says to the circus clown being back in town.

And then Trevor Lawrence...and then the best QB from the 2022 class...and then...

It never ends.

This is really a worthless conversation.

What about all the big deals before Josh's? I guess they look good, too... who cares.

The big game-changer was when they went to standardized rookie deals. Remember Sam Bradford getting that huge deal in 2010 and he hadn't even played a game yet? Lol.

Of course it never ends.  One point to keep in mind is the new TV contracts coming up.  If they are as high as some speculate the QB salaries

could skyrocket.  Then Allen's contract could look even more "reasonable".  That is my hope.

Let them spend spend spend...in the long run good for us.

It's terrible for professional football players, though.

This is the future some envisioned when the cap was introduced.

Eventually, as teams get smarter, we are going to have a world where the 5 or so difference makers on each team make ALL THE MONEY and the rest of the roster is filled out with players earning league minimum.

It's gonna look reasonable regardless. You don't need to hope for anything. Unless there's some big contract rule change, like the CBA change I mentioned.

Ravens would be fools to give him that kind of money,  it's been proven that running QB's do not have long NFL careers
