Chaos Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 (edited) Green Bay got trounced in week 1. The Bills offense is not in top form through 2 weeks. One common factor for these two teams is that starters did not play much in pre-season games. Does anyone follow the entire league enough to have an opinion on whether or not playing starters in pre-season vs. early regular-season success (this year only, not historical perspective) Edited September 20, 2021 by Chaos 1
Wayne Cubed Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Andy Reid and KC firmly believe in using the preseason to get into rythm for the regular season. Saw an interview with Mahomes saying how they like to come out prepared and dominate September. And until last night, that's been the case as they hadn't lost in September with Mahomes as starter. Even while teams weren't playing starters, I believe Mahomes played in every preseason game this year.
nucci Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Rams sat all their best players and their offense looks very good. No correlation. 1
dpberr Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 I think it's risk of rust vs. injury in regards to preseason and I do think there's some adjustment to playing in full stadiums versus last season playing in the equivalent of a football library.
BuffaloBillyG Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 There was zero preseason last year and the Bills exploded offensively right out of the gate. No.
billybrew1 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 The chefs are a whisker away from 0 & 2, so no.
Lofton80 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Preseason is all vanilla defense. I recollect two touchdowns on two drives for Josh Allen when he played preseason. I feel comfortable that they will figure things out.
