Even if Kenyatta Walker was cut, I have a funny suspicion that TD would not pursue him. He doesn't seem to be their type of player.

If he does get cut, I think we should dump Teague, sign Walker and give Tucker the start at center. When Preston is ready (probably next year) then Tucker goes back to swing guard.

Walker-Anderson-Tucker-Villarrial-Williams with Preston, Gandy, Geisinger, and Peters as depth.

DEN forfeited their 3rd round pick this year because of cap overage. Perhaps TB thinks it's in there best interest this season to keep what they have and pay later. Dunno.

denver forfited a 3rd rounder cus back during their SB years they CHEATED and lied about their cap #.

well they say 1 guy who is no longer with the organization lied about it so they would remain under the cap.....

they cheated, and won 2 SBs, and all they give up is a 3rd rounder....

but if the NFL knows your over the cap, i think you are fined every day you are over. they will cut the cap # down befor the deadline.

TB couldn't be $5 million over the cap, because on draft day they don't let you draft unless you have enough cap room. I could be wrong on the #, but you have to have enough room to pay each of your draft choices at least the minimum-it could be higher (Clumpy, help). Therefore, TB being $5 mil over is total BS.

That doesn't mean they're $5 million over at this time. It means that they're barely below the cap right now, but that in order to give their draft choices the slotted contracts, they will have to free up money. You misinterpreted that they're currently $5million over-they're not. The paper is correct, but the original heading of "TB 5 million over cap" isn't.

Thanks for the quotation, it cleared things up.

That means they don't have money to sign their draft picks yet ----- everyone had to be under the cap before free agency started. The Bucs are basically going to need to clear that amount of money to sign all there pics.

albany is right -- the topic of this thread is deceptive and inaccurate.......

every team is below the cap as of now.......they have been since march 2nd, which is the deadline for teams to get under for the '05 season........the only time a team is "over" the cap is the period from the superbowl to the beginning of free agency.......

Yes, this is the second draft choice they forfieted. I share your dislike of that rotten bunch of chop blockers and knee-cutters, but it seems that the punishment ends up being not the mill per day but a 3rd round choice...
