JohninMinn. Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 More options to score like the good old days.
Mango Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 I don’t have a great answer for this in general. In addition to asking price there are a lot of comments on this board about how Bojo needed to go because of holding for Bass. Is there really nobody else on the roster that we need to swap out our pretty productive punter? (That I wish was still here)
WotAGuy Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 QBs are too important and their time in practice too valuable to use it practicing holding. 4 5
BuffBillsForLife Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Because Romo fumbled a snap 18 years ago on a hold. 2 7 1
Locomark Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Why do you need to try 2 fakes a year from a guy on his knees when you have a money kicker capable of scoring from 55 yards out all game long.
Solomon Grundy Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Because they have Trubisky wrapped in bubble wrap 😎 1 1

Teams used to do that in the 90's or so, but switched the punter as holder since gives the backup QB more time to practice on offense. Otherwise, he would be working with special teams a lot. CountryCletus Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Read this and thought “hmmm, good question”… so I reached out to a Bears fan friend of mine- he never recalls him holding in Chicago (most of the time he was the starter, though)…. Then it dawned on me- Bojo held for us the last few years, and it’s almost always been our punter. Didn’t Haack have some nice trick plays since he’s been in the league?

Denney made like he was running off the field before the snap and they ignored him. Denney is a Mormon so that became known as the Moorman to Mormon connection 1 2

Rigotz Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Because being a holder is a very precise science and I trust the guy who has done it all day every day for years over a guy who has never done it before. You may remember Bojorquez, who practiced every day, costing us a few field goals last year because he faced the laces in instead of out.
MJS Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Trubisky spends his time in the QB room and doing backup QB stuff, helping Josh Allen get ready. The punter and kicker spend all their time together and can practice that stuff constantly.

I don't think it should be the backup QB, but maybe someone who has played some QB before. Or another core special teamer with some plus atheticism or something. Taiwan jones, matakevich, whatever.
