Xwnyer Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Many mistakes and poor execution but there are 4 plays that absolutely had an impact on the outcome of this game. First is 3 and 2 and we try the cute flee flicker that a great defensive play stopped credit to Steelers but maybe playnactionor a run may have yielded better resukts 4 and 1 and WTF was that play call? The motion by the receiver pulled the DB into a position to make the play versus putting them out of position. How many times have we seen Brady pick up that yard with a straight dive. the defensive holding on white on the INT all I saw on replay was a brush of the jersey The Pi on Wallace sure he didn't turn his head but he reply never made contact with the guy. 3 5
Steptide Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 I agree on the white interception. That was a bs call. Could've potentially changed the game. Who knows 3 1

Disagree on Wallace. That was DPI. Agree on the rest. 2 1 3
Nextmanup Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) You're not even going to mention the blocked punt for a TD? Edited September 12, 2021 by Nextmanup 3 5

Let me add one. Air mailing Sanders on a walk in TD already up 10-0. 5 1 1
Motorin' Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 The blocked punt was the biggest play of the game. 7 3 1

Beast Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 How about Allen missing a wide open Sanders for a long TD? 1 1 1 1
Ethan in Cleveland Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 OP you don't even have the four most impactful plays. 1. Missed TD to Sanders 2. Missed blocks on KO return that should have been a TD 3. Blocked punt for TD 4. 4th and 8 and they don't kick a FG McD pisses away money and roster spots on special teams and they still cost us 11 points. 4 1 1
BruceVilanch Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Really bad game all around, Allen looked indecisive and nervous. Defense played pretty well overall though, so that's nice. 1

I know there were multiple like that. The intermediate routes had 2019 Josh Accuracy not 2020 Josh. 1 minute ago, Ethan in Portland said: OP you don't even have the four most impactful plays. 1. Said Moss sitting was a numbers game. And then Brieda is important for ST. Then why is Taiwan Jones on team? Also bad look when your rookie DE is inactive and you cannot get pressure on a BAD OL. 2 1 1
Milanos Milano Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Part of me hopes Daboll leaves. His play calling is a liability at times. Allen is top 3 QB in the league, there is no reason for today’s performance and I mostly blame Daboll. 3 1
berg1029 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 good list. i will add 2 other candidates (probably slightly less important than the ones in your list): 1. fourth and 8 from roughly the 35 and we decided to go for it. We have a great kicker from long distance and (if I recall correctly) the game was 10-3 and a field goal would have made it a 2 score game. I think the announcers said it would have been a 53 yard field goal? 2. the allen fumble (forced by watt) on 3rd down in pittsburgh territory in first quarter 1 1

Had a joint tackle on a punt return and had a key block on the McKenzie KO return to start. 1
CEN-CAL17 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 4th & 8, 30 yard pass vs letting Bass kick a 53 yard FG. Bass can kick 60 yards. Give him that chance. 4 1
clearwater cadet Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Josh and oline was not good today, that was the diilfference. 2

Yeah, he has struggled on deep passes most of his career. How many times do we see QBs like Cousins hitting those plays regularly. When Allen figures that out, he’s going to be darn near unbeatable.

The flea flicker was a great call if you planned on going for it on 4th down…they didn’t To me the defensive holding call completely swung this game Pittsburgh had no offense at all up to that point
