schoolhouserock Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Way too many penalties today. Blocked punt was terrible. Kicking a FG while in the red zone with ~6 minutes left was a bad, bad decision. Deserved the L. PIT had some very good plays all around. Sucks to lose this - will be a tough tie breaker to overcome. 1
No_Matter_What Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Let the doom begin! I am not happy but whatever. Allen was worse than any game last season, offense was not clicking, Daboll made som weird calls, McDermott made some really bad ones, one ST play broke our neck. Defense was fine and did its job. Refs didn't help too but they didn't decide this game. We will get better, I am not afraid. Allen was probably too amped, he will settle down. 1 1

stevestojan Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 We can stop worrying about the hype from the media. So, we have that going for us, which is nice. 1

Greatdane21 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) The same holes that haunted this team last year are back, holding penalties, lack of pass rush, corner play , punting, Josh fumbling and can’t hit long passes, tight end usage nonexistent. let’s see how they recover from this loss! GETTOTHE50 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) We beat ourselves but the refs made sure of it. the Steelers didn’t do much of anything asides from the blocked punt and be the beneficiaries of reffing Edited September 12, 2021 by GETTOTHE50 2
teef Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 As much of a stinker as this one was, I don’t think we have to worry about it being a habit. Everyone was just off. Not typical for this team, but certainly not above it. 2
Brand J Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Same problems as last year. OL struggles to protect, DL struggles to get home with 4, DBs can’t hold long enough for DL to get home. Wallace is still a liability, Edmunds can’t catch a cold (why is he on the hands team??), and the team won’t go far if Allen is off. Team is also not good enough to have 2nd and 3rd round picks inactive.

Pitt made a lot of key catches. The INT that was overturned was huge. Overall we deserved to lose. You cant keep a team in the game like we did. We were out of sync and in a funk all game. It happens. On to Miami! While you are absolutely right, the disheartening aspect is that the Steelers suck. They're not a good team. Decent defense, but that's it. They are not a SB contender team. They are a 1 and done playoff team at best. That's what worries me. 1 1 1
JAMIEBUF12 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Seems to me its been 3 seasons now of wondering when we will upgrade levi wallace.year after year we watch him get picked on. 1 1
BeastMaster Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Outclassed in every way in the second half This team isn't as good as we have been led to believe 4 1
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Props to the Steelers defense, they were tough to the challenge against our modern passing attack. Nevertheless without 2 big phantom calls, the INT by Tre and the PI against Levi, the Bills (defense) wins the game easily. That's my take. 2 1 2 1
Warcodered Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Well they got punched in the mouth, looking at it positively, it happened early hope they can buckle down from here. 2
dgrochester55 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 The rest of the NFL knows what the Buffalo offense is about and they wont get away with being one dimensional as much as last year. I am not worried, yet, I would rater have a wake up call like this early. Hope they can learn from this and make the necessary adjustments. 1
Roundybout Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 My biggest fear before the season so far is confirmed - our defensive back depth is atrocious. We can't have Taron Johnson on Mapletron and I've long wished we would move on from Levi. Offensive line was horrific but I think the Steelers have the best front four in the league. Of course, then why didn't we scheme around that with some rollouts or RUN PLAYS? 3
