LOST: The Journey

I didn't watch yesterday's episode, so maybe they clarified.  However, the first time it happened I couldn't quite understand what the person on the radio was saying so I turned on closed captioning, and it said that the radio said, "There are no survivors of Oceonic Flight 812." (not, "No, WE are the survivors....")  As I said, maybe that was clarified yesterday but according to closed captioning, that's not what was said.

The previews from before the ep where Boone died clearly said "No, we're the survivors...." There was probably enough unintended confusion that the producers decided to redub the audio. I wouldn't exactly trust CC. From that, I'd say there's definately another (probably much smaller) group of survivors, that includes Rose's husband.

There's new eps each week all the way through the finale.

Something I noted from the repeats. Locke's sister died from a broken neck (his golden retreiver story). Boone's nanny died from a broken neck, and Locke was clairvoyant to this.

The summary episode for Lost was not as well done as the one for Desperate Housewives. Then again, DH only had 4 main characters to deal with. But it tied things together a lot better instead of jumping around so much.

One other plot point that was not shown in last night's summary episode, was when Sayid was trying to establish a radio connection with the firing of the 3 rockets. This was "The Moth" episode, when Kate leaves to try and save Jack and Charlie from the cave-in, she leaves Sawyer in charge of firing off the rocket. When it came time all 3 rockets were fired off and Sayid started to get some kind of transmission on his radio, but then he gets hit over the head by someone, knocking him out. WHO???!!!

We still don't know what happened in that incident.

OK - I didn't get a chance to log on yesterday, but I have a few comments and questions.

1. The voice-over in last nights episode says early on after the crash "you're one of 48 survivors". This was well after the immediate crash and chaos on the beach where the man was sucked through the engine and whoever else might have died on the beach. Then later Hurley says "I got the names of everyone - all 46 of us". This was before Ehtan made good on his threat and killed someone. So who died between the first night and when Hurley's census was taken?

2. About this dinosaur-like creature - why doesn't it eat these people at all after capturing them? The pilot's corpse was pretty much fully intact up in the tree. You would think the creature would probaly eat them whole and all you might find are some bones, a watch and some buttons in its' dung a few weeks later.

3**. Did anyone else notice the scene where they're showing Locke sitting alone on the beach when the voice-over says "And the people you meet... are not what they seem."

That seems to be a little foreboding/foreshadowing/fore-something...

The two people that died were:

A) the woman who drowned while swimming (Boone swam out to save her, then Jack swam out to save Boone)

B) the marshall that was escorting Kate (Jack had to put the guy out of his misery after Sawyer missed the guys heart with the last bullet in the marshall's gun)

EW a few weeks ago said that some mysteries will be revealed before this season's end. And that is one of 'em. I put the others that will be revealed in yellow. I don't have answers though, so they aren't really spoilers.

The others they mentioned: The raft and who gets to set sail, the hatch, Locke's reasons for everything. I can't recall if they said the monster would be revealed this season, but I don't think so.

BTW ... what ever happened to Rose? She's been missing for a while, right?

No, she's been Lost. 0:) I've seen in some short TVGuide-like previews that she makes an appearance before or in the finale.

Not necessarily foreboding, as a lot of people are thinking the worst of Locke (not w/o reason). 'Not being what he seems' would suggest that he's not evil. I keep flashing on Walt's comic book where Green Lantern and Flash attack the benevolent alien. I don't know.... <shrug>

The actress who plays Rose is actually doing some work on Broadway, and she won't be in any of the episodes this season. I like her, especially when she said he husband was still alive. A little bit of info, tied into that, Michelle Rodriguez will be a new regular next season. They are also introducing a new guy "Dr. Artz" within the last few episodes. Perhaps there were other survivors!

I just watched "Journey," and I still think it sounds like they're saying, "There are no survivors..." in the plane. We'll have to see.

A few places are reporting discrepancies in the Closed Captioning, as you mentioned before.

This clip seemed to clear any question of what was said in response. Sounds like you don't believe it, which is entirely w/in rights. I choose to take it as the given, esp. w/ some other info on future casting.

Another thing to note from Deux en Machina: The shard of metal that went about 4 inches deep into Locke's leg doesn't seem to affect him any. He pricks his foot, puts them close to the fire.... Nothing. No pain. That's another reason why I think Locke may be "Unbreakable" (thanks to the island) and why the preview that's showing him get shot is moot for surprise, b/c he's not going to die.

Thanks ... GREAT FIND! So there is another set of survivors, that's for sure. That's probably what will be discovered on the season finale.

I was thinking about that preview of Locke getting shot...the preview is actually of Locke being blown backwards with a gunshot superimposed over the video. It's possible that he's being blown backward by an explosion of some sort...perhaps after he's opened the hatch? Food for thought.

Also just noticed that when Sayid is holding the gun up to him, his shirt is dry, but when it looks like Locke is being shot, his shirt is drenched.

I think we've all realized long ago that the previews we see for this show are EXTREMELY misleading.

Exactly why I don't believe the advertisement saying "We are survivors" :D

I'm a skeptic by nature though. :P
