We should trade him to the Blue Bombers for a draft pick . . .

He could join up with Kenny Lawler there....another fan fave ;)

There are some really interesting names on the other teams' cut lists.  Key and Peele could do another skit....

DiCaprio Bootle

BoPete Keyes

Sandro Platzgummer

Equanimeous St. Brown (I had heard of him before)

Coy Cronk

Rojesterman Farris

Dee Virgin

Freedom Akinmoladun

Montrel Meander

Tre'Vour Wallace-Simms

and of course..

Tim Jones

I though Hollister would help Josh out a lot. Wow, was I wrong. Is he that bad, or is there hope for our tight ends after all?

He might still get brought back. Unclear if he is "cut" to facilitate putting a player on IR or not.

I’d rather try to get Gandy Golden or someone with upside for the PS over John Brown.

Smoke knows the playbook and can be a plug and play dude in case of emergency. But he's not going to sign to a teams PS. Someone will pick him up. He's not a bad player, he's just not elite.

Yeah, he will probably get signed to a team's 53. If he doesn't, the thought of a healthy Jon Brown late in the season being able to step in to a key role in case of an injury seems like a luxury.

If not though a PS is a nice way to keep collecting a check while you are waiting for an opportunity

Some good DBs in the twilight of their careers available for depth. Many with significant snaps from 2018-2020. I haven't seen any signings yet.

I am not proposing the following could be replacements for starters, but could add some solid depth. I know PFF is persona non grata here, but it's one way to measure player ability

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-roster-cuts-tracker-2021

POS-NAME-(Snaps 2018-2020)-PFF Grade

CB - Desmond Trufant (1906) - 64.4

CB - Rasul Douglas (1868) - 64.2

CB - Prince Amukamara - (1869) - 78.5

CB - Pierre Desir (2257) - 66.0

S - Clayton Geathers (1178) - 73.9

S - Will Parks (1349) - 64

S - Tony Jefferson (1211) - 66.8

S- Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (2091) - 81.2

Others available:

CB Dre Kirkpatrick

CB Richard Sherman

Ha ha Clinton Dix was a high school teamate of Matt Milano, so there is some familiarity there.

Adding experienced depth at CB and S positions can be quite valuable as long as they dont go Vontae Davis on us.

I would be more comfortable with Trufant/ Amukamara at CB than some of the depth/PS probable CBs for a Super Bowl push. Same with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix as a Marlowe replacement at S. I am not enthralled with Johnson having potential fill in reps at S, and Hamlin is an unknown.

That may not be enough But .. He was on the Packers with Hyde that may take it over the top 😂 That's familiar x2

Wouldn't mind bringing in Rasul Douglas.  Always thought he'd be a good fit for McD's scheme. Also wouldn't mind Keke Coutee as a Beasley insurance policy.

A few players that were cut by other teams that are interesting for the PS or active roster IMO. Obviously there are reasons why these guys aren't on a roster right now, but there could be some untapped potential with the younger guys and some depth/talent left with the more established players:

CB Desmond Trufant (2015 Pro Bowler)

DT Mike Daniels (former Pro Bowler, started 11 games last year)

WR KhaDarel Hodge (reliable receiver and special teamer for the Browns)

CB Nickell Robey-Coleman (doesn't fit our CB prototype, but has a knack for a big play)

WR Keke Coutee (slot specialist)

S Shawn Davis (5th round pick in 2021 draft)

WR Cornell Powell (5th round pick in 2021 draft)

WR Dez Fitzpatrick (4th round pick in 2021 draft)

WR Dazz Newsome (6th round pick in 2021 draft, frequently mocked to the Bills)
