What “good young prospect” were you thinking of keeping over him? really working out that new reaction emote huh @Sherlock Holmes? I swear i’ve never seen a contributor to this board more useless and mindless as you. Fire up the vomit. It looks cooler than the disagree emoji, like a strong disagree that causes puke chunks to surface in my mouth.

Spotrac has the saving at $0 and Overthecap has it at $1.3m. Does anyone know the truth?? No I don't think so Gunner. Joe B is quoting too much because of the $1.5M Roster Bonus guarantee that has activated I believe. The weird thing with Spotrac is on the base line for 2021 it shows a $4.1M Dead money hit which is what the contract details read. 1M Signing Bonus, 1.5M Salary guarantee, 1.5M Roster guarantee and 100k workout bonus. That would be a cap savings if cut of $1,750,000. Which works out right and what is shown on the base line. What seems to be wrong is when you click on Spotrac expanded details the whole thing falls apart and makes no sense. One other reason I believe the expanded numbers are wrong is they added a 2022 Dead slot which tells me there is a glitch. If I had to make a bet I would think the $1.75M cap savings number is correct. Now if they cut Butler to keep Zimmer ($920k hit) I think that is a reasonable move. If traded it seems that the new team would pay $4.75M for him which is a "maybe" for a DT needy team. FWIW.

I do think they keep Taiwan guy seems untouchable given his ST skills. Taiwan is someone Beane and McDermott value WAY more than some of the fans on the board. They've talked about the importance of having a core of Special Teams Specialists. Taiwan being their #1 guy in that core. But a vocal part of this board just isn't hearing it. You can't just be a very good Special Teams player on this board. Even if it means you're active every single game - they'd rather keep a 6th Defensive End or a 7th WR who will never see the field unless there's an injury instead. It's absolutely baffling. They'll probably protect him again this weekend with the rest of their untouchable players and people still will reach for reasons why he won't be here. Edited August 19, 2021 by BillsFanForever19 1

Amen!!! A good punter nullifies the need to have elite cover units, IMO. If Haack can directionally place his ball with purpose, I’d rather the up-and-coming pass rusher make the team. This is a point a lot of people are overlooking. Even though we didn't punt much last year and weren't necessarily terrible with Cory Bojo, this team still felt the need to move on from him and bring in a new punter. And they did this likely so they don't have to worry about keeping so many ST focused players on a deep roster. So this is why I think a lot of these guys who some fans are touting as locks because of ST ability might not necessarily be the case this year (i.e. Taiwan Jones, Daryl Johnson, etc). 1 1
