BillsPride12 Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Since the Things That Didn't Age Well thread was a lot of fun and got a ton of replies....I figured we should look at the flip side of this and list things that are still amazing all these years later. I know in the other thread somebody already mentioned The Three Stooges. I'm going to kick things off with the early years Simpsons(about the first 9-10 seasons) FXX has been showing a lot of the really early season episodes the last few nights and it had been awhile since I've watched any of those and I had a ton of great laughs. One of the funniest shows of all-time(not counting when it fell off a cliff after the first decade) and those episodes still hold up very well to this day. Quote
Warcodered Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie. 2 1 1 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Perhaps the stories and characters might vary in strength over the years, but that is one helluva ship. Quote
Augie Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 I’m afraid I personally belong in the other thread….. 😓 1 1 Quote
Another Fan Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 I watched Heathers recently. While in no way can the movie ever be made today it's pretty timeless considering what was happening in schools pre Covid. It was satire back in the day but holds up very well Quote
SinceThe70s Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Old cars that were restored or well maintained. Anything from a Model T to a Pacer to whatever. Always amazing to pass one on the road whether I like the style or not (see the aforementioned Pacer) 2 1 Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 (edited) Based on my nerdy hobby of collecting 70s era vintage hifi equipment, much of this has aged well, and based on what top of the line marantz, pioneer and sansui receivers sell for, others unfortunately agree. Hard to find bargains anymore Edited August 14, 2021 by AlCowlingsTaxiService Quote

DrW Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 (edited) The Marx Brothers' "Duck Soup" has many aspects that are still (or again) relevant today. Edited August 14, 2021 by DrW 1 Quote

Philly McButterpants Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 The Beatles: Not the entire catalog, though. Anything post Sgt. Pepper's is fan-dam-tastic music. Quote

Johnnycage46 Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Alien and Aliens, T1 and T2, and Robocop are still classic, awesome sci fi movies. I usually rewatch them every year or so and they still hold up great IMO 3 1 Quote
SinceThe70s Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 This song sounds as good to me today as the first time I heard it. Quote
