It's with a former CIA Chief of Base in Afghanistan. Excellent discussion of what the CIA does, and also of why the ultimate mission was doomed to failure.

Interesting.  But everyone with an understanding of the history of Afghanistan, the graveyard of empires, understood on day one the mission initiated by GW Bush was doomed to failure.  Blame some of that on scope-creep.  Although i can't remember all the details, almost everybody was hot and heavy for the idea at the time and I'm sure anyone in the minority that dared to object or raise concerns was called an "isolationist" and an "appeaser".  An interesting thing about this 20 year "mission" is it was started by an idiot President and ended by an idiot President.

With these military adventures, somebody always pays the price for bad decisions and policies.  Almost always our men and women of the armed forces.  The shame is that its never the people actually making the decisions.  Rather than being exiled or shot after their failures, they move on to other roles in the Washington uni-party game such as lobbyists or at war cheer leading think tanks where they're employed and well-compensated to do more damage.  Meanwhile, when our our brave and honorable veterans, many left disabled or damaged, are no longer useful they're discarded by the system.

Good one. And I won't put up an argument against it.

These days we have to choose the lesser idiot.

It wasn't started by any president.

It was started by a terrorist industry led by a lunatic, whom they were harboring, and who was exporting its murder.

The regime was offered an option to give him and his training industry up, and they refused.

We didn't "start" it.

Add THIS to Biden's LEGACY:

Taliban Reinstates Policy of Stoning Women

Remember when Biden pulled out of Afghanistan which resulted in the deaths of 13 members of our military AND the Taliban 'receiving' millions and millions of dollars worth of our military equipment? Yeah, that sucked.

Want to know what sucks more ?

This.

Ooooh, that's right. He's also giving them money ...

Kirby Squirms and Stammers As He Gets Nailed on Difference in Israeli Strike vs Biden Strike on Innocents

By Nick Arama

Kirby did an interview with Fox's Martha MacCallum on her show, "The Story." The subject essentially was the Biden team throwing Israel under the bus with the things the Biden team has said. Kirby protested, saying that they stood with Israel, but they wanted changes to dealing with civilian casualties in the wake of the accidental killing of the aid workers in an Israeli strike in Gaza.

Then MacCallum truly nailed him when she asked about the difference between the Israeli strike, which she described as a "trigger moment" for the U.S. to go off about Israeli's "tactics" and accountability. Meanwhile, she asked how this was different from the strike on the innocent family, with the guy who had helped the U.S. and so many children, being killed -- 10 people killed.

Boy, that's all you can say? That's how you know even he couldn't find much of anything to tell the difference. He said the military would make changes to deal with "systemic" issues, but there was no need for "personal accountability." Oh, okay. You're making changes, but no one is responsible.

Pathetic.  And I like John Kirby although that's only because he seems like a nice guy.  But like most, it wouldn't surprise me if he were a POS behind the scenes.

Devastating new details reveal more State Department chaos in the two weeks before the Afghanistan disaster:
U.S. staff STILL didn't have a full evacuation plan when the Taliban stormed Kabul...

by Rob Crilly

Hours of private testimony by two of the top State Department officials who oversaw the evacuation from Afghanistan lays bare the confusion at the heart of the operation, and how they failed to respond to warning signs that the Taliban was sweeping across the country. The result was a chaotic operation at Kabul's airport in August 2021 with Americans scrambling to get on flights after the extremist group had seized control of the country. American citizens had to pass through checkpoints run by the same gunmen who had spent years battling U.S. forces.

Most important point.

I'm not sure history, beyond say, the last 100 years really matter much either.

The Taliban party down

The signature foreign policy “achievement” of the Biden/Harris administration must be our Afghanistan exit, pursued by a Taliban bear. Yesterday the Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of their victory with a party and parade at the Bagram Air Base featuring the materiel we left behind (video below). The AP reported on the festivities in a story datelined Kabul:

Under blue skies and blazing sunshine at the Bagram base — once the center of America’s war to unseat the Taliban and hunt down the al-Qaida perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks — members of the Taliban Cabinet lauded achievements such as strengthening Islamic law and establishing a military system that provides “peace and security.”

The AP notes: “Women were barred from the event, including female journalists from The Associated Press, Agence French-Presse and Reuters. The Taliban did not give a reason for barring them.” Surely someone at the AP can crack the mystery.

The AP doesn’t authenticate the military parade depicted in the video, but it describes it. The story observes that the Taliban’s Bagram party “was also an opportunity to showcase some of the military hardware abandoned by U.S. and NATO-led forces after decades of war, including helicopters, Humvees and tanks.”

Let us recall that Vice President Kamala Harris was “the last person in the room” with President Biden when the decision to exit was made. Yet, according to unnamed Harris aide, her own position remains obscure:

Harris 'last person in the room' video goes viral on 3rd anniversary of deadly Afghanistan attack

by Brian Flood

Many conservatives have marked the third anniversary of the deadly Abbey Gate bombing that killed 13 Americans during the Biden administration's Afghanistan withdrawal by unearthing poorly aged comments by Vice President Kamala Harris. Monday marks three years since the Aug. 26, 2021 suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport, which killed 13 American service members and more than 100 Afghans. Islamic State terrorists claimed responsibility for the attack.

So B-man thinks we should still be in Afghanistan?

It's horrible there for women, yes. But do we really have the ability to change the situation with troops on the ground?

I would say not. An army can do a lot of things, bringing a people out of the middle ages is not necessarily one of them
