Pentagon briefing says it was just one bomb and not a ‘complex’ attack that killed 13 Marines at Kabul International Airport

February 4, 2022

U.S. defense officials have changed their tune and are now saying it was just a single bomb and not a “complex” attack that killed 13 Marines during the chaotic evacuation at Kabul International Airport last year:

And this is why journos need to question everything team Biden is saying about the attack on an ISIS leader this week that resulted in a number of civilian casualties

“THE BETRAYAL:”

That’s the title of a long article in The Atlantic by George Packer about the Biden administration’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Plus: “Though no one from the White House would say so on the record, Packer reports that Biden’s people continue to claim there was no way they could have foreseen how quickly the Taliban would complete its takeover. But it was foreshadowed, notably by Dexter Filkins in the New Yorker in March of last winter. His report portrayed a robust Taliban and an Afghan government already collapsing.”

When you ignore intelligence agency reports of experts that predict outcomes different than what you want you tend to get surprised when things don't turn out the way you expected.  It's a failure to perform the necessary risk analysis and mitigation especially critical in matters of life and death such as this one.  And the decision process most like clouded by confirmation bias.  Accepting facts that support your premise and expectations while rejecting facts and expectations that don't support your premise.

NO THANKS TO THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION:

39 Americans Evacuated From Afghanistan In First Major Airlift Rescue Since Taliban Takeover

Among the rescued are more than a dozen children, including Project Dynamo’s youngest-ever evacuee, an 11 month-old American boy.

Months after U.S. government flights ceased, 39 American citizens and legal permanent residents were rescued by a two-man covert team, flying on a privately funded plane out of Taliban-controlled Kabul.

The group, sponsored by the non-profit Project Dynamo, is expected to land at New York’s John F. Kennedy International airport by 9 AM on Saturday morning.

Jill Biden ?

Commander in charge of Kabul evacuation: White House and Jill Biden were 'distractions' during chaotic time

74895f85-1836-4083-bf58-685e80753dc1-860

Rear Adm. Peter Vasely, the top U.S. commander in Kabul during the evacuation, is speaking out about the chaos that ensued during the botched Biden withdrawal from that country. He makes it perfectly clear that the “distractions” coming from the people in the White House, including Jill Biden, did nothing but interfere with the plan that was in place. It wasn’t just distractions in the White House, either. Pope Francis and members of Congress hit him up for special favors during the evacuation, too.

Vasely said that the Pentagon was being pulled in different directions from White House officials, lawmakers, members of the media, and from the Vatican, too. People requested special favors as it related to helping get people out of Kabul and essentially competed for the resources that were available during the evacuation process. The priority was to evacuate American citizens first, then legal American citizens (like green card holders), and then Afghans who helped American military. That is standard priority at the Pentagon but favors were being asked at such a high volume that Vasely felt under pressure to take “certain forces” away from the rescue plan in place.

We now know what Rear Adm. Vasely experienced during the evacuation because of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by the Washington Post. A 2,000 page declassified report has been released. The report includes dozens of interviews with military officials and the most detailed official account of the 17-day evacuation to date. As a reminder, the Taliban arrived as a massive force in Kabul on August 15, ready to take control. American military leaders were not at all confident in the Biden administration’s ability to manage the crisis. We know now that those doubts were justified.

The long-standing practice of leaving no Americans behind simply didn’t happen. To this day, thousands of American citizens and green card holders are trapped, unable to get out. The same holds true for our Afghan helpers. They were promised the gift of coming to America after their service to our military yet the Biden administration turned their backs on so many of them. Most galling of all is when we continued to hear from the State Department that all of those who wanted to get out, got out. That was a flat-out lie. Blaming those left behind, stuck in Afghanistan, for their own predicament was always absurd. Are we to believe that the greatest military force on earth couldn’t evacuate all those who wanted to leave? The administration left many of them to fend for themselves.

I was flying combat missions over Afghanistan from early April to late June in 2021 (I.e. right before the collapse) and you could see the ANA getting whipped and losing ground all over the place. It seemed like every day’s intel update had a new town or province that collapsed.

if we could see the collapse, with minimal information, from the Ike, there should be no excuse for the Biden admin not to, having a treasure trove of info at the White House, and is simply incompetence or neglect.

Jake Tapper Levels Biden Over Outright ‘Rejection’ Of Army Report: ‘It’s Difficult To Overstate How Insulting It Is.’

CNN anchor Jake Tapper took issue with President Joe Biden’s outright dismissal of a nearly 2000-page Army After-Action Report (AAR) detailing his administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Tapper addressed the report as he wrapped up Sunday’s broadcast of “State of the Union,” arguing that while he believed Biden cared about the men and women in uniform – and often in harm’s way — he couldn’t understand why that concern did not translate to a willingness to take the investigation “more seriously.”

The report also indicated that no one was on the same page when it came time to evacuate Kabul. “At the embassy, U.S. troops went room to room on Aug. 15, pressing people to meet deadlines and get ready to go, an Army officer from the 10th Mountain Division told investigators. Some State Department personnel were ‘intoxicated and cowering in rooms,’ and others were ‘operating like it was day-to-day operations with absolutely no sense of urgency or recognition of the situation,’” one officer said.

Tapper took issue with Biden’s outright dismissal of the report, saying, “It’s difficult to overstate how insulting it is, given the full content of the 2,000 pages of documents in this U.S. Army investigation which CNN has also obtained,” he said, noting that many of the people interviewed during the investigation were career soldiers with “little political motivation to lie and heavy legal and moral obligation to tell the truth in sworn statements.”

When was Joe Biden’s prickly little ego ever able to tolerate admitting a mistake?

So your defense is Biden is to argue something that happened 20 years ago that the majority of Dem Senators voted for also? What was fabricated that the Dems did not know about?

Using this as an excuse for President Biden is dubious at best.  Then Senator Biden sucked right into it and voted for it.  Not only did he vote for it, he was head of the Foreign Relations Committee and a major supporter of the war and driver to make it happen. He's as much too blame as those clowns.

To refresh your memory, watch this. Its Democracy Now:

Galls me that he has the whatever it takes to run for office again after such a F*ck up.  Even more so that a majority of voters voted for him.

We should keep this firmly in mind as President Biden talks about Russw/Ukraine.
