Inigo Montoya Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 (edited) https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/edge/football/nfl/teams/nyj/new-york-jets Only Jets player missing. Hasn't signed contract yet. Can't say I'm upset... J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! Edited July 29, 2021 by Inigo Montoya 1 14 3 1
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 You wouldn't believe how deeply his agent and lawyers are reading the contract regarding Gase as a consultant. Johnson still maintains Gase is a genius.
YoloinOhio Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I think the same thing happened with Darnold 2 1
CaptnCoke11 Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Technically he’s not a no show. He’s not allowed to participate in training camp without a contract. 4 2

Orlando Buffalo Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 This only makes sense if they had a plan not to start him this year but clearly he has to start day one. Right now he needs to be with his teammates and working. 1 1
Royale with Cheese Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I think he's looking for a contract greater than Mahomes. 6
Brennan Huff Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 This kid is going to be the worst QB out of that class. It makes me excited 1 1 3 10 1
Greg S Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 New coaching staff, new systems and schemes to learn for a rookie QB. The more time he misses hurts the Jets and Wilson. This is a good thing. Hopefully this lasts a while. 6

He's a got a bit of Rodgers to his game if you watch the tape. Quick release, different arm angles, buys time with his legs behind the LOS, and he's got more than enough arm strength. Even his incompletions weren't off in a lot of instances. I hope he doesn't pan out for NY, but it's likely he could be a solid starter for them if not more. 1 2

It makes me excited I think you will likely be correct because the Jets are so bad. Mahomes would likely be considered a bum on that team, so what chance does he have 1
Florida Bills Fanatic Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Just when the Jests fans think they are crawling out of the bottom of the league, stuff like this keeps happening. The longer this goes on, the better it is for the Bills. Their front office keeps demonstrating a degree of ineptitude that is increasingly difficult to understand. On the other side of this, the Wilson kid needs to understand that his success in the league is not guaranteed. Rookies as talented as him have failed in the league because they didn't take full advantage of their opportunity. Missing time in training camp is not on the road to being successful. 1
DJB Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I mean you drafted the guy in the top 5. Why cheap out considering the rookie contracts from 15 years ago. Just sign the kid and get him into camp. But Jets gonna Jets I suppose 1 2

Kwai San Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 OK - A: where is Spags when ya need him the most? And B: Wasn't this the kid who was hi fiving the jests fans during draft day??? Only the Jests!!!! 1

Yeah, but the 1st round contracts are pretty well locked in. There’s hardly anything to negotiate about. 2 1
MJS Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 What a bunch of morons. The Jets will always be the Jets. He is your first round QB. Give his agent what he wants. It's not like there is a ton of wiggle room with the rookie wage scale. Who cares? Get him into camp. Is there any other team who hasn't signed their first rounder? 1
