New coaching staff, new systems and schemes to learn for a rookie QB. The more time he misses hurts the Jets and Wilson. This is a good thing. Hopefully this lasts a while.

Yeah, idk about that. He's a got a bit of Rodgers to his game if you watch the tape. Quick release, different arm angles, buys time with his legs behind the LOS, and he's got more than enough arm strength. Even his incompletions weren't off in a lot of instances. I hope he doesn't pan out for NY, but it's likely he could be a solid starter for them if not more.

I think you will likely be correct because the Jets are so bad. Mahomes would likely be considered a bum on that team, so what chance does he have

Just when the Jests fans think they are crawling out of the bottom of the league, stuff like this keeps happening.  The longer this goes on, the better it is for the Bills.  Their front office keeps demonstrating a degree of ineptitude that is increasingly difficult to understand.  On the other side of this, the Wilson kid needs to understand that his success in the league is not guaranteed.  Rookies as talented as him have failed in the league because they didn't take full advantage of their opportunity.  Missing time in training camp is not on the road to being successful.

I mean you drafted the guy in the top 5. Why cheap out considering the rookie contracts from 15 years ago.

Just sign the kid and get him into camp.

But Jets gonna Jets I suppose

Not to mention that the pass game coordinator who was introducing the material to him died

Technically he’s not a no show.  He’s not allowed to participate in training camp without a contract.

Yeah, but the 1st round contracts are pretty well locked in.  There’s hardly anything to negotiate about.

What a bunch of morons. The Jets will always be the Jets. He is your first round QB. Give his agent what he wants. It's not like there is a ton of wiggle room with the rookie wage scale. Who cares? Get him into camp.

Is there any other team who hasn't signed their first rounder?
