I will take duffs plain wings with a side of ranch dressing.

Just because I know this will get a reaction lol

Careful what you wish for, you may get a marriage proposal from @Royale with Cheese

I'm never going back to Duffs. Past two times I went to the OP location, my food was cold. I mean, not good for a wing place.

I don’t think of Duff’s OP as the same as Duff’s Sheridan.  Not the same.

Gabriel's Gate, hands down.   I grew up thinking no one could top Duffs, then discoverd I was dead wrong.

Never got the Bar Bill hype.   Mammosers is a stealth pick when I want to change things up a bit.

This.

Try Ferros in West Seneca. Fantastic NY style.

And Desi's pizza on Clinton. I'm eating a vegetarian pizza from them right now 😋

I wasn't aware they were still open.

Question, as I am not a native to WNY, which place would be best if you like a lot of sauce?  I've tried Duff's and Anchor Bar which were good but, I gotta be honest, I tried Mammosers one time, and I thought their wings were not very good at all.  Not much sauce and just kind of bland overall.

If you're expecting a 'traditional Buffalo' wing, Mammosers is not for you.   They're dryer than 'wet' and tend to be smaller than 'jumbo.'   Still, they're a great change of pace to the same 'ol, same 'ol and I love em a bunch.

Lol, I’ve had all pretty much all of these lately. The answer is Bar Bill and it isn’t particularly close (never had 911 Tavern). There are a lot of really good to great wings. Bar Bill is in it’s own tier.

I like Marvin’s on Goodrich. This from a guy who lived near the bar Bill for years.

I spoke to the original folks with the duffs name on Sheridan. The OP restaurant they were not happy with.

After much thought I have to pass on any place charging over $1 per wing. The answer is none of these...

What am I, made of money?

Some people on this board think your gold 😀

When I lived back there, early 2000's, I always thought Just Pizza had great wings. BBQ/ HOT. Great pizza too!

Was back in WNY last year, stupid expensive, but still really good.

You could get them seared on grill.  Williamsville/ Clarence location.

I don't think I'm wrong, surprised to see they weren't on the vote list.

Does anyone else have a truth in advertising problem with a place called Just Pizza serving wings? Or anything else?  🤷‍♂️ :)

I think they actually opened a place in Sarasota, FL the last year I was there. That location was just OK, and I don’t think they made it. I don’t recall ever trying the wings. No shortage of people from WNY trying to bring decent food to FL and stay warm in the winter.

Anchor bar disappoints me. Their wings are never crisp enough.

Duff's gets my vote.

Consistently crisp, hot and meaty.

I haven't had a crispy wing from duff's in years despite asking for extra crispy every time and I don't think they ever could be called "meaty". They've been very inconsistent for a long time. It's disappointing because they used to be really good and consistent.

Wanna know another unpopular opinion?  Buffalo pizza sucks.

It's just mostly bread.  I'd rather have Domino's.

If I want good pizza, give me a NY style thin crust from a mom and pop shop.

go to Italy for dominos….oh wait….they closed their last non military location.

hey mods…are these words grounds for suspension? :)

i prefer eating dough over cardboard

I’m from tonawanda area ( city/ north)

the regular places I go to when back in town…

Plaza Pizza for pizza, subs, and wings. This place is 2 blocks away from my SIL brother lives. My brother, her, and their kids stay there when in town. I’ll go over there and we might order from there.

I stay at my sisters in NT when in town.  Near where she lives is Franco’s. They have pizza wing's and subs and delivers.

i will occasionally do Wally’s  for subs. I know the owner from HS.

Johns pizza by boulevard mall is another place.

near my sisters is a Teds

Andersons is an easy get for beef on weck.  Wegmans opened a mile from where I live so I can get weck rolls from there.

id occasionally do the anchor bar inside airport security. That place hasn’t reopened since Covid. When going there I’d usually do fingers over wings.

There are a few other places I’ll go to. Old man river is one.  I’d do dockside restaurant. My SIL niece was a manager there pre Covid.

last time I was in town end June I went to a place I hadn’t gone to in almost 30 years since my days going to UB.  Me and some friends from college would go there Friday for dinner about 1-2 times a month.  Casadas  is another place I haven’t gone to in over 30 yrs. It was one of my parents regular places to go out on Friday.

in NT paynes is a decent restaurant that is “ upscale” for the area.

another restaurant is Hideaway Grill.  It’s off 425 on division.

You know who has some of the best wings I've had in a while? The restaurant inside Hamburg Gaming on the Erie County Fair Grounds. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, good amount of sauce. Highly recommended.
