Ya know.. I was starting to worry a bit that DeSantis, while an extremely effective leader, might not have the confidence/quick-wit needed to take on the political king of those characteristics …

…. Tonight is proving me that he just might.

Trolling Trump by going to Des Moines after DJT cancelled his event due to a “weather emergency” is wild .. and I didn’t see it coming from DeSantis.

Really?

So, what about the Holocaust isn’t being taught?

Explain it to us like we’re 5.

From everything I’ve heard and what I see, he won’t be a serious candidate until the next cycle. It certainly doesn’t hurt to have a practice run this time around though to gain experience, learn how to walk and talk, etc. His donors appear to be drying up also. It also isn’t a great climate for his brand  of politics on a national level, which you will find out shortly. You can already tell that most voters have no stomach for culture wars this time around. The stuff just doesn’t break through outside of your average drunk uncle visiting for Thanksgiving.

He also has a name recognition problem that Trump never had. Most voters have no idea who the guy is so a lot will hinge on his national introduction. Anyone’s guess what that will look like. Not very promising at the moment.

DeSantis For President in 2024?

Never

"If I can't force a doctor to chop of a mentally ill child's penis my rights are under attack" is a surprising statement even from you.

Sure.. if you believe everything Trump’s PR rep Maggie Haberman says, I can see how you believe that.

I doubt you’ve ever watched a speech of his .. it’s far less focused on “culture wars” than you seem to think.

However, in regards to the culture wars, here’s two things:

1) it is effective when the messenger knows how to discuss it.  See, DeSantis & Youngkin.

2) The culture wars are starting to permeate the suburbs/normies.  The biggest issue for R’s (aside from messaging) was that this seemed like a non-issue to many in their life.  Not so much anymore.

There isn’t a ton of polling, but in the ones that are out there, DeSantis is within the margin of error, or tied with Biden, in states like Wisconsin, Colorado and Virginia.

His biggest hurdle isn’t the General, it’s getting past Trump.

Do you have a link to her article? I haven’t read anything yet since I stepped away from news/politics until election season comes.

Sounds like the books had the words "social justice" and "critical race theory" in them.

Banning books is never the answer

NO books have been banned.

You can still buy any book you want

However (as always was the case before) books that have been determined inappropriate for young age levels have been kept out of school libraries

You prove your ignorance when you state otherwise.

There were books “banned” (not allowed) at public schools long before Libs went full LGBTSAWYJN664;;:/-7899999 Woke.

What innocent books that kids should be reading have been banned since DeSantis?

And what about the Holocaust isn’t taught?

The list of books banned from school libraries prior to the past few years is longer than the list of books available in school libraries.

You are pathetically gullible. We have an entire semester class in high school on the Holocaust which has been spread to every high school in the past 4 years, previously schools could choose if they even offered it.

Of course book banning existed before Meatball got all power hungry in Florida. Book banning has existed for centuries, no one said otherwise

I just said it’s never the answer to any problem

I like the fact that you are willing to admit that you believe children should be allowed to access all the porn they want no matter what age they are, I disagree vehemently l, but at least I know where you are coming from. I know you must believe this because you are arguing against DeSantis on this topic

hopefully she can help that city.

According to the FBI's most recent data, the total crime rate in Jacksonville, FL is 3,569.3 per 100,000 people, which is 52.14% higher than the national rate and 65.78% higher than the Florida total crime rate1. In 2020, property crimes dropped by 17% in Florida, while the number of violent crimes edged up 2.3%2. Jacksonville is still considered the murder capital of Florida2. The crime index in Jacksonville is 8 out of 100, which means it is safer than only 8% of U.S. cities
