Is there any human that can objectively look at Desantis and suggest he isn’t a better presidential prospect than DJT? well aside from DJT

Trump is much better at getting people riled up, which is certainly an advantage. Unfortunately in this day and age you must get the wholy uneducated to vote for you to win, and emotion is what drives them. I know not your actual question but a major factor

Fair point, the real war game is pitting dumb vs dumb.

intelligent people realize different perspectives and compromise is a rational way to govern.

but neither side wastes time on the reasonable.

they chase the religiously loyal, single issue idiots and the low IQ folks that believe the good guy bad guy mantra.

Good guy bad guy mantra is why soany people are still all in on Ukraine. Ukraine is better therefore they are good guys.

we have no choice now. Ukraine was a monumental western diplomatic failure and now those poor Ukrainians are the sacrificial lambs for a front the west has to hold.

If there is one thing I’ve learned living abroad it’s that when the outside world likes our leadership, it’s because they can walk all over it. They hate it when they can’t.

EVERY media outlet led with the phrase that the superintendent was being fired for criticizing Desantis

Multiple examples here:  https://twitchy.com/sarahd-313035/2023/04/28/msm-are-flat-out-lying-in-headlines-about-superintendent-who-could-lose-job-for-criticizing-desantis/

Of course, that's not the truth.

No surprise

Citizens united was about Corporations having free speech, and in turn the right to fund PACS that promote politicians.  got to read past the headline.  IT was a first amendment law suit.

Now you are on the side of the corporations by defending their free speech.  and in an ironic way, 100% support every topic promoted by the PACS created and funded by that ruling.

Its utterly amazing how many have strong views, so strong they then use them to claim intelligence and try to insult others. then when asked for details,  they reveal they have absolutely no understanding of the topic, just parroting headlines.

 DeSantis underwhelms Britain’s business chiefs

UK captains of industry lambast ‘low-wattage’ US presidential hopeful.

But Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis failed to impress British business chiefs at a high-profile London event Friday, in a tired performance described variously as “horrendous,” “low-wattage” and “like the end of an overseas trip.”

One U.K. business figure said DeSantis “looked bored” and “stared at his feet” as he met with titans of British industry in an event co-hosted by Lloyd’s of London — the world’s largest insurance marketplace.

A second business figure who was in the room said it was a “low-wattage” performance and that “nobody in the room was left thinking, ‘this man’s going places’.”

They said: “It felt really a bit like we were watching a state-level politician. I wouldn’t be surprised if [people in attendance] came out thinking ‘that’s not the guy’.”

Politico is such a partisan hack dem mouthpiece… and why didn’t you quote the third and fourth person ? I’ll help

”he came across well”. He was “fine”

And why did they pull a trump and insult his name in the title?

if he runs it’s doubtful he gets past the primary but this article is nothing but a trolling a hit piece. And even it had asked 4 people for feedback and got two negative responses of 4 and wrote the article around the dissenting.

Not a fan of his politics but, the press is constantly lying...

ORLANDO — The fallout came fast when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s new election police unit charged Peter Washington with voter fraud last summer as part of a crackdown against felons who’d allegedly broken the law by casting a ballot.

The Orlando resident lost his job supervising irrigation projects, and along with it, his family’s health insurance. His wife dropped her virtual classes at Florida International University to help pay their rent. Future plans went out the window.

“It knocked me to my knees, if you want to know the truth,” he said.

But not long after, the case against Washington began falling apart. A Ninth Judicial Circuit judge ruled the statewide prosecutor who filed the charges didn’t actually have jurisdiction to do so. Washington’s attorney noted that he had received an official voter identification card in the mail after registering. The case was dismissed in February.

One by one, many of the initial 20 arrests announced by the Office of Election Crimes and Security have stumbled in court. Six cases have been dismissed. Five other defendants accepted plea deals that resulted in no jail time. Only one case has gone to trial, resulting in a split verdict. The others are pending.

The alphabet people and their advocates are calling us “book banners” for removing certain books from school libraries. One of the most defended of the books–and most attacked by parents and people who want to defend children–is “This Book is Gay.”

The title is genius because it makes anybody who objects to providing the book to kids seem homophobic. But the gay part of the book isn’t the truly objectionable part, but rather it is a surfeit of practical advice it gives to kids about hooking up with adults to have sex. Literally, it does that.

This book does not belong in school libraries. Nobody is suggesting it be “banned” from purchase in bookstores. Any parent who gives this to their kid is insane, but no laws will prevent it.

But the state should not be promoting it to children, and yet it is prominently featured and promoted by school libraries as a book for LGBT-curious kids to check out.

Unsurprisingly, given the pro-groomer ideology, it is actually very controversial for parents to object to their kids encountering this book in schools, no less being encouraged to read it. But it is.

Somehow arguing that middle-school kids shouldn’t be hopping onto sex hookup apps makes you a medieval witch hunter.

I don't know, I always thought the "messy body fluids and pesky emotional stuff" were the 2 of the best parts.

The reason gay guys get so much sex is cuz it's 2 guys.  Duh.  Nobody gets a "headache".
