The publication that put Duck Hodges in the same conversation as Josh?! Yea, ok!

I remember the night game in Pittsburgh against the Duck where the Steelers were favored.  I couldn't believe it, all I could say was Josh Allen vs Duck Hodges as I raced to the casino to bet the Bills on the money line.

Heres some thoughts on Allens ranking. Starts at the 3:20 mark.

Both of them made too much sense here. Even if you think Josh will regress in 2021, how can you say with a straight face 39 other players are better than him when he was #2 in MVP voting? lol

Hell, I think Josh will regress *STATISTICALLY* but still has room to grow even better, especially mentally. Each year he becomes a better leader, and the longer he's around, the more comfortable he'll be in the pocket. If the game continues to slow down for him, his decision making will improve even more.

So if this is taking into account what they'll do going forward, Allen at 40 is even dumber than only factoring in the last 3 years.

Maybe he means most non-Bills fans? I dunno, I've heard that a lot. But most of the people I've talked to are kinda in the same boat as me.

They think it's very likely his numbers on paper will regress, but he as a player will get better. It's pretty hard to put up 40+ total TD's each year, so it's ok if he doesn't match that this season. What matters is how well he plays in those big games, stays healthy, and limits turnovers. That'll be more than enough as long as we can field a competent run defense (and maybe find a running game of our own).

Lol people are so sensitive. Allen will likely regress. I'm sorry to break this news to you. If he has another 40+ TD year great, it just doesn't happen often. Even the greatest QB's of all time have regressed after seasons like that. Don't expect another 40+TD year.

So Chris Simms is on PFT going through his top QB's.  He's at #4 with Watson and Allen hasn't been mentioned yet....so he's top 3.

Tune in now if you want to hear his take on Allen.

He’s at 2. There’s a whole thread on it. Lol.

Just "click bait".

Sure.  PFF isn't 'real' football work.  While teams do subscribe to PFF, I don't think many coaches or scouts concern themselves with it very much.

PFF exists to entertain.  Their job is to create content that gets attention and drives sales.  You can't blame them for doing their job.

I do read power and player  rankings from time to time but I don't really care what they say.  I'm pretty confident I know the Bills better than any of the national media gurus or stat geeks.  Most of us here do.  I don't need them to validate my opinions.

I wonder what his thoughts were on Josh coming into last year.  I was excited but was still blown away by how well he did.  I also like that PFF hasn't recognized that Josh sits outside the data set they use to make their predictions.  One thing that site is good at is the non interpretative stats during different personnel groupings, down and distance, etc.  Their grades though lack critical context and I don't think are that valuable to the NFL community.

Those that don't really know what they're talking about then. Go find me all the QB's with back to back 40+ TD seasons.

Another thing is you should expect the Bills offense to regress some also.

I’m in the small camp of thinkers that think he takes his game further, rather than regressing.  No statistics to back it, it’s just from watching him progress and knowing that everyone could possibly take a step forward given the year of consistency that they’ll have before this season.

Well that's just it, exactly. Let's say the Bills in 2021 are 5-10% better in the running game, thus statistically giving more of the offensive total yardage for the season to the running game. Meanwhile Josh is playing in yet another year of the same system, is even better at reading defensive coverages and schemes, and has more continuity with his teammates. Joshes #'s in this scenario likely will be slightly lower than last years overall passing stats. But is Josh a worse QB? Certainly not. In fact he'd be a better QB. Is the offense not even better with the added threat of the running game? Still you will see articles claiming they were all correct about Josh's "regression" and patting themselves on the back. PFF does track some good information, but like everything else out there it needs to be used in the proper context if its going to be used at all for anything other than entertainment.

I said earlier he'll regress statistically and still become a more efficient QB. Statistical regression doesn't mean he's bad.

It's hard to put up 40+ total TD'S every year, no one has done it. Not even Mahomes. He had a statistical regression after his 50 TD season. Back to back years has happened but it's just rare.

The quote below is the statement you said. I new you were so far wrong that I created a poll. PROVES you are wrong that most people do not think he will regress. IF you had said some think he will aggress then I understand. Now you call us sensitive cause your proven wrong and you continue to act like gods gift that it is FACTUAL that he regresses. I care what you expect that's on you and you have every right to your opinion.

But

Don't act like its factual "like it or not"  your way or the high way attitude around here and then draw us into it like you thought everyone else agrees with you.. then you call us sensitive... Sorry we love Josh.. Sorry we think he will improve.  Your word isnt the final word. stop acting it.
