So, really, why care if a multimillionaire doesn’t get even more money? Josh has enough money right now to never need a job for the rest of his life.., I just don’t get this one percent worship thing…, Josh as the team QB on the team I follow is fine, but he is a multimillionaire and he is about to get even more money he doesn’t actually need, so why the concern for his fame and financial well-being?  I just can’t wrap my mind around ball washing one percenters…

Go Bills!!!

Its not about him making money.  I think this is one of the problems our franchise still faces.  Players and agents take these things into consideration when looking for a free agent destination.  If our biggest star cant get endorsements its not a good look on the franchise as a whole.

Nestle's Quik? Puhleez, I was always a PDQ man myself. Pity they stopped making it. Don't even get me started on Bosco.

This is so dramatic.

The fact that Josh Allen is not on a Jake from State Farm commercial at this point is blasphemy

you mean the fact that Jake Fromm isn’t?

Which part was dramatic?

I never said we were doomed, just pointing out that players do take this into consideration.

The part about how it’s not a good look for the franchise.

Do you think players and agents take that kind of stuff into consideration?

Now winning cures everything, but as of right now we are one of the least marketable franchises.  I collect cards, and although Josh Allen cards are going for a pretty penny, I cant help but believe that they would be even higher if he played for another franchise.  A lot of times on facebook when collectors are calling out the top qbs they are looking to buy, Allen is left out and lesser players are listed.

Jake Fromm is PERFECT for insurance is suppose to be for when something goes wrong and that was exactly what his role.

Maybe his agent should market him for new Maytag washing machine repairman commercial.

I think it depends entirely on the player. I’m sure it’s possible that some of the more elite free agents have taken it into consideration at some point.

Consider how many elite players there are in the league without big time endorsements. Do their franchises look bad because of it? These guys are also in big market cities as well. Players want to win and get paid. I think you’re overstating this endorsement stuff.

Thing is it goes a lot deeper than just endorsements.  It also bleeds into all star voting, all pro voting, hall of fame, etc.  Players love to be recognized.  Out of all the Qb's that are considered top 5 Josh probably is the only one without any major deals.  We are just lucky Josh isn't an egomaniac because the wrong qb would be counting his days to get to a more marketable team.  Players want to win and get paid, but most also love to be seen.

I think you’re really reaching with this. We’ve had players make the Pro Bowl in years we were bad. We’ve had players make All Pro teams recently. Good players get recognized, albeit it’s harder when you play for a bad team but that’s the case pretty much everywhere. Josh is widely considered one of the best QBs in the league and is about to be paid like one. Not sure I get what your beef is.

The OP made mention about Josh not having and major endorsements.  I pointed out that thats one of the weak points of being on our franchise.  I dont see whats so hard to get.

Yes we have had players make the pro bowl after the first and second string declined.  Yes we have had all pro players who probably should have been all pro from the year before.

Of course we are going to pay Josh, I don't see what that has to do with the topic.  And yes he is widely considered one of the best players, but yet he isn't getting the endorsements he probably should.

A reasonable hypothesis on your part, I hope Josh makes as much as he can, I’m just not interested in that aspect of football, it seems like misplaced idolization to me.

Yikes! It’s interesting that you immediately go to the money side of things. If you ever get any you’re going to figure out that you do very little of what you do for the money. Your focus will be on the challenge of achieving something you didn’t think you could.

I only referred to a pay check, as a football player I truly hope he becomes the best, I’m just not interested in a current multimillionaire making making more money, I don’t begrudge him in the slightest, it’s just not what interests me about Bills football.

The more he gets from endorsements, the more he's willing to forego from the Bills?

Unlikely, two different business transaction going on there, that and the Bills can not currently offer Josh more fame or endorsements from outside entities.

It’s not hard to get. There’s just nothing supporting your speculation other than that’s what you believe.

Which endorsements should he be getting?

Bills fans are so insecure. Everything is taken as disrespect for some strange reason.

Huh?  What's this got to do with the Bills?

Not really taking it as disrespect.  I think when we win the super bowl this year we will get the recognition.  Was simply pointing out in my opinion, based on what I have seen over the years Bills players do often get overlooked because we didn't win any of those super bowls and have been losing since.

I also think the Pegulas are doing a much better job marketing the team and putting the franchise in a better light than Wilson did in his last years.  I think there are a lot of politics behind the scenes and having owners who actively market, promote the team, and make the media welcomed plays a big part in this.

Most outsiders do not respect the franchise (because we lost all the super bowls, and have been losing for a long while).  I think Josh not having any big endorsements are because of the team he plays on.  We will have to win the big one before all that comes (and I think its coming soon), but the reality is our players have to stand out a lot more than some other players to get some recognition nationally.
