Oh please...stop the overreactions.  Nobody is retiring and I am pretty sure the Bills will be over the necessary threshold for team meetings and activities. And if they aren't it won't be Beasley on the chopping block.

No, that's not the case at all. That's some desperate ploy you're clinging to and it's wrong. Please stop trying to gaslight. You're not good at it.

1) Vaccinated people still wear masks. For example, where I live in Texas, you can't go to the grocery store without a mask regardless of vaccination status.

2) If he is unvaccinated, then he's following the protocols that he agreed to...

I happen to agree with all of this except point 2. He didn't agree to them obviously. His union reps did.

I do agree people are upset he refuses to follow the protocol for the most part.

so...are we against Cole stating why he is not getting vaccinated...or that he is not getting vaccinated. Cause JA 17 aint getting vaccinated either...

and we okay with that because he not stating why in public?

Learn to deal with JA 17 not getting vaxxed

I know you're being purposely obtuse, but I'll still take the bait.

No one is arguing about vaccination status except you.

Do you understand the difference between vaccination status and saying you won't follow protocols because you are unvaccinated? Why do you refuse to answer this question?

Good luck with that!

Employers have every right so set protocols for unvaccinated people. It's being done all over the country. NFL is no different.

Employees have every right to voluntarily provide proof of vaccination to avoid said protocols.

If they don't provide vaccination, and they refuse to follow protocols that are set, which Cole is insisting he will do, you think he can sue if he gets shown the door?

This is the real world, that's not how things work.

Getting your children into public schools has worked that way for decades. It’s weird how almost everyone is completely cool with that.

Well, then let him retire.

I don't know how the protocols are all that unreasonable. I'm obviously late to this discussion, but I assume he's 100% serious???

I love Beasely as a player, but he's turning himself into a pretty bad distraction this offseason. He would be missed, but how much longer will he be with the team, anyway?

I hope this blows over, but if he's serious, he should retire because I don't see the protocols changing.

Are people here arguing that they're somehow unreasonable?

by being part of a union, you're agreeing to let them negotiate on your behalf because when leveraged with other people give you greater leverage. Cole agreed to this and a majority of players agreed to this. Now that it is a conclusion he doesn't like, he is saying he won't adhere to it. He signed documents to that effect.

Are you advocating that he didn't understand what he was agreeing to by joining the NFLPA?

If he's just talking about not following the restrictions outside the team facilities, going out meeting with family and what not if that being restricted is still a thing, then I don't really care, it's not restricted for just about anyone else I don't think, but if he's not going to follow the restrictions within the facilities then this is awfully hypocritical forcing his decision on everyone else around him there.

He's a crybaby who should just man-up and get vaccinated. I've been vaccinated (2 shots) it's NO big deal. If he doesn't want to abide by the NFL rules then he should retire NOW so we have time to find a replacement for an idiot WR!

Can’t imagine many players will back up Cole’s stance .  It’s fine to choose not to get vaccinated as it’s a personal choice .   But then to say that you won’t follow social distancing requirements is idiotic .

I think it’s a little more than that...the restrictions against unvaccinated players borders on “solitary confinement”, imo...the penalties seem extraordinarily over the top, to try and coax the players into getting “the poke”...

It would suck if he retired, but I like the activism...👍

Your going down the rabbit hole now…. Has there ever been a virus in our history that is transmitted without people having symptoms?

I actually forgot to answer your question in my first response.  This is actually a good point you're making and is a classic what comes first the chicken or the egg type question.

Testing has confirmed that many virus can be passed from asymptomatic people to others.  The caveat is that in most of these cases the virus remains at very low levels in the person it transferred to and they also are asymptomatic or suffer only minor symptoms. This is how herd immunity is quickly generated in human populations.

During flu season if we were to test EVERYONE we would find asymptomatic spread.  But we generally restrict our testing to symptomatic people.  For covid the fear of the virus made the simple fact of catching the virus a problematic endpoint. Yet for the vast amount of people symptoms were slight or not apparent. It didn't help that our tests were to sensitive for practical public health actions.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that those with symptoms are far more contagious then those without.  And not only are they more contagious but their overt symptoms lead to their delivering higher doses of the virus to those they infect.

Bottom line is that quarantining symptomatic folk would have been the most logical, effective and importantly least disruptive way to deal with covid.  Spoken in hindsight of course.

OK, I can see that, from your POV.

My point is that he's very publicly creating a horrid dilemma for his coaches and GMs, by announcing that he will neither be vaccinated nor follow the NFL/NFLPA protocols for non-vaccinated players.  He's kind of throwing his team's NFLPA reps (and the NFLPA in general) under the bus as collateral damage, and of course, potentially putting other non-vaccinated teammates at risk if one believes that the protocols were a best-practice to protect everyone from contagious disease.

I don't think it's OK to choose a path of personal freedom that carries so much collateral damage, but YMMV.

Not wise to air your bs on social media. He could have announced retirement gracefully without the LAMP. The NFL lost so much revenue last year that Coles stunt will not cause the league to blink.

Cole has every right to not be vaccinated, and the NFL has every right to sideline him. I think the NFLPA is pure scum, but htey agreed to it, he is in the NFLPA, he has to live with it.

I also think JA17 aint getting no vaccine, which i took my second dose in April. His choice. Only reason Cole getting blasted is his public stance. You okay Josh not getting vaxxed as long as he keeps it quite? Is it  only a matter of wins and losses for you? What these human beings think matters not? Damn it, win me a Super Bowl!!!!!

accroding to most, he should be cut cause he is not vaccinated...and apparently has no desire to ever be!

When you start saying stuff that is so obviously and completely not true, it's probably a sign that you are losing the argument.

Forget "most", how about you reply with just one quote of someone in this 30 pg thread saying a player should be cut for not being vaccinated.

Not at all, and trust me I know 100% you are legally correct and he has no recourse to pursue.

Though when he signed said paperwork he didn't think they would have the right to restrict his personal access to his family.

I wouldn't join a union for this reason,  but you are correct he did.

CDC:  Rapid quarantine of close contacts with or without symptoms is needed to prevent presymptomatic transmission.

This is where risk/benefit calculations come in.  Required vaccinations for schools make sense given the threat of the problems they're meant to deal with.

Last I saw most school systems don't require children or teenagers to get the flu shot do they? This is in spite of flu outbreaks often emerging from schools.
