I do not want the Bills to move.  If they do, the Austin/San Antonio I-35 corridor is personally a great option as I spend half the football season in Texas.  There has been talk of a baseball stadium between the 2 cities but have not heard of a football stadium.

Also whos to say Jerry Jones isn't actually for this either? Sooner or later a team is going to be in that region whether a team relocates there or an expansion team appears. Might as well get it done in a way that suits him getting a slice of the concessions and catering.

Judas Priest dude the Bills aren’t going anywhere. They’re staying in Buffalo, everyone on this board needs to calm down and relax.

To the Pegulas if the team is ever moved out of Buffalo.

It’s not going to happen, the pr move would be a nightmare for them and Terry would have to give up the Sabres something he will never do

Also just so everyone knows Pro Football Talk loves to stir up move rumors when it comes to any team but esp the Bills. Throughout their history this is what Florio has done at any sign of stadium discussion.

If getting $1.5B in tax payer dollars after a pandemic where people lost their entire livelihoods, family, friends, children, etc. is important enough to the Pegulas to pick up an take the Bills out of Buffalo. They’re welcome to leave.

I understand this is the start of a negotiation. But I can’t get behind billionaires asking for billions in a billion dollar industry so that they can keep making billions, while still in the thwarts of a pandemic. Meanwhile some are still struggling to get by and ultimately he’s asking for their tax dollars to keep money in his pocket.

New York is such a crooked and shady state.. I need more than this one article to get worried. I think it’s extremely smart to begin negotiations this way.
I haven’t browsed too many numbers and I’m certainly not a know it all about this stuff but I’d like to think if they can get 500-600 million funded the stadium will be a go and they can make it work. You got to make the threats and show other cities will pony up though.
It’s the price you gotta pay to be small market and have a team.

It’s 99% unlikely to happen, but I’ll be honest… this report just drained me of all my excitement for the upcoming season.

Im sure my excitement will return, and I’m sure some clarifications on the story will come out as the season comes closer, but what a kick in the d**k story to read today.

Even worse is all the pot stirring from sports outlets like PFT.

I know what I would do. I would turn my back and walk away, just like I did when the Braves left Buffalo. I barely even watch the NBA until the Finals.

Having said that, I don’t see them going anywhere so I’m not losing any sleep over it. A compromise will be reached that will cause a certain amount of angst on both sides. That’s usually the outcome of a fair deal.

I get it... But it's a negotiating tactic...

I was wondering how this was going to work.

NY is broke, and we are still in the middle of a pandemic. How can the "guy who saved the Bills" get public money?

If you're stance is that you'll never move the team then there is no pressure on the state. What's the difference then?

Pegula: we want a billion dollars

NY: no

If the Bills ever relocate that would be it for me, I would be done with football outside of maybe watching the superbowl.

As a side note, the city of St. Louis is currently wondering why a potential relocation would be to Austin.

Also, the thought of the Bills moving is crack to Florio... Someone in WNY must have read broken his heart in the past...

I wouldn't put much stock in his tweets on this

That’s pretty much how I see it myself.

I appreciate that the Pegulas bought the Bills and built a marvelous new training center and hired a GM and coach who seem to have turned the thing around.

But they are multi-billionaires with mansions and a yacht.  If they need $1.54 billion of taxpayer money as the price of keeping the team in Buffalo , Nuts.

As someone who moved down south, my worry isn’t really with the Pegulas - as trash as this report makes them sound - it’s just the typical start of stadium negotiations…

I do worry about the city/state.

I suppose looking at the Mets/Yankees stadiums could be a blueprint, but what - if any - implications could y’all potentially electing a socialist mayor have?

Doesn’t matter who the mayor is.  They are kicking in nothing.  The city of Buffalo is in no position to help in any way, shape or form.
