Southtown Tommy Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 How many more years does Chicago have to put up with her? 9 1 2 5
Don Otreply Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Frankly it’s good to hear a Mayor anywhere in America tell a football team owner to shove it, needs to happen way more often to all corporate entities. 19 5 1 1
Royale with Cheese Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 At least she sounds like she knows a little about football. 3 1

Beerball Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Some really strange comments in this thread. Good topic Yolo. 3
YoloinOhio Posted June 18, 2021 Author Posted June 18, 2021 I confess to not knowing anything about this mayor other than her comments are funny. 1 1
Mr. WEO Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 She already called this Bears bluff a while ago, reminding them of their lease until 2033. Someone posted it here.
machine gun kelly Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 I guess I’m in the minority, but the Bears outside of that year with Grossman where they lost to the Colts haven’t really been that relevant since the 80’s. She’s pretty much saying what fans are thinking. I know she should be above calling them out, but she’s standing her ground. I can’t remember the figure, but I thought it was over $500 mil. Invested in Soldier Field upgrades. 1 1

It was meant as a general criticism of mayor issues regarding Chicago and should be addressed in a PPP topic, which in fact it has, often regarding her. Edited June 18, 2021 by I am the egg man
Arkady Renko Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Didn't they recently completely remodel Soldier Field?

Don Otreply Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 It’s funny, in a sad way, but not surprising to see corporate worshipers take the side against the citizens of Chicago, just can’t wrap my mind around ball washing the one percenters …, 5 1
May Day 10 Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 I heard about this a few weeks ago and still am generally confused at how/why the Bears are looking for a new stadium. Wasnt Soldier Field fit with all the bells and whistles for a huge price-tag not too long ago?
