Tipster19 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 It was actually senseless to even sign Donnelly in the first place. If they liked him enough to sign him, then shouldn't he at least get a look in the training camps? I wonder about our talent advisors sometimes.
Astrobot Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Donnelly was Smokescreen. Welcome to NFL Incorporated.

The team looks at them as insurance in case they don't get help in the draft. If Everett hadn't been picked in round 3, he'd probably still be here. But with 5-6 TE's on the roster, it's just a numbers game and he was the short straw. Probably cost the Bills $20,000 or less. I wonder about posts like this sometimes...
Tipster19 Posted April 26, 2005 Author Posted April 26, 2005 What is it that you wonder about? C'mon, spit it out.

Tipster19 Posted April 26, 2005 Author Posted April 26, 2005 That's a good one, Sound_n_ Fury. You got me. Touche.
John from Riverside Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 How many TE's do we generally keep on the roster? While I like Everett and think he is going to be a star.....I feel bad for Euhus who is probably going to end up bing the odd one out..... Campbell and Everett in 2 TE sets equal two guys who can block and catch.....
nodnarb Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 We had a TE named Donnelly? Damn, I thought I knew everything about this team.

Euhus is a MM favorite and isn't going anywhere. I'm guessing we'll see a lot of two TE sets this season, with a depth chart like this: 1. Campbell 2. Euhus 3. Everett 4. ??? (blocking specialist for short yardage)
John from Riverside Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 You really think Everett is going to sit behind those 2 for very long.... I PREDICT that by midseason Everett will be starting.....

Everett's only got one year of experience as a starter...he's got a lot to learn yet.
EC-Bills Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 That's the last straw! First TD let's Mr. Irrelevant slip through his hands and now this?!? Someone stop this insanity.
RJsackedagain Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Donnelly was Smokescreen.Welcome to NFL Incorporated. 320081[/snapback] I thought when someone throws a short pass to Ricky Williams that was called a "smokescreen"
Astrobot Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 No. that's called a "Ricky Don't Lose That Number."
Happy Days Lois & Clark Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I think I like Everett the Best of the Bills picks this year. Seems as if he has alot of upside & be a great player It will be nice to finally have a TE with some speed

His attributes look a lot like Everetts
