Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 At least their graphic says 'best'. Two years ago Gore into the pile on third down gave an entirely different meaning to 'offensive play caller'. * Jeebus! Some people are never happy. 😁
TBBills Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Andy should be first TBH he is the only one that made average QBs successful. 1 2
billsfan89 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Daboll really had a great 2020. Hopefully he fine tunes the offense and adds in new parts to the system. 1
GETTOTHE50 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 How is lafleur #1? He lost the NFC title game when he elected for a FG. He’s an idiot 2 2
Warcodered Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Wasn't their a thread/topic saying he was on the hotseat going into last season? Gruden at 4 did he really have that good of a year?

Both McVay and Shanahan had off seasons for their offenses, more because of QB issues than anything to do with scheme or offensive play calling. QB changes this year for both may change how they're rated next year at this time. The loss of Aaron Rodgers, on the other hand, will likely know Matt LaFleur off the top of the heap if that happens..

The Dean Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Reid has to be #1 IMO. Then again remember these lists are designed to be click bait and discussed on forums. And we took the bait. 4

I'm now thinking Daboll has to improve to get out of second place. I want him as far down the chart as possible. Damn, I thought baseball sabermetric guys were insufferable, snarky a-holes but they got nothing on the nerds at PFF. 1 1
NewEra Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Not just based on last season, I’d go Reid then Shanahan. Mcvay, lafluer, Daboll, Arthur smith should be among the next best imo 1
First Round Bust Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 (edited) agree - Reid is a hall-of-fame coach based on his offensive play-calling alone...nice to see Daboll mentioned in that company,,,Gruden ?1?!..have to wonder if he was not grossly overpaid would he have been canned already and taking a gap year before deciding which broadcasting gig to polish a chair with his behind in...Joe Brady..one year in the league and already top 5 ? sorry PFF but Sean McVay and Sean Payton have proven over several years as OC, HCs, and having their coords become HCs that they are top offensive minds...and Shanahan gets to prove that as well with a new qb to mold... maddenboy Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 There's a difference between "play caller" and "play designer." Not sure I love Daboll's play-calling. 1 1
