B-Man Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/11/dont_let_leftists_gaslight_you_on_critical_race_theory.html Don't Let Leftists Gaslight You on Critical Race Theory By Christopher Paslay FTA: Although this summary denial of CRT by people like Devega is frustrating, the reality is that Critical Race Theory is being effectively smoked out. There was a time not so long ago when people actually tried to defend the use of CRT, like Marc Lamont Hill during his interview with Christopher Rufo. But now the playbook has changed. CRT is simply too toxic even to try to defend. This is why the National Education Association scrubbed Business Item #39 — which supported the use of CRT in K–12 schools across America — from its website in July. This is why the Biden administration removed the link to University of Georgia professor Bettina Love's Abolitionist Teaching Network from the Department of Education's website, claiming that the connection to the radical group (which aims to "disrupt Whiteness" in schools) was a mistake. Defending CRT would be to defend the use of Robin DiAngelo's White Fragility in teacher training from coast to coast, a book that teaches that all whites are inherently racist and privileged and perpetuate white supremacy by default. It would be to defend the use of Ibram X. Kendi's How to Be an Antiracist, a book that polarizes Americans into tribal camps based on skin color, deeming one group "oppressors" and the other group "oppressed." It would be to defend the use of Montclair State University professor Bree Picower's book, Reading, Writing, and Racism: Disrupting Whiteness in Teacher Education and the Classroom or the use of ultra-woke artist Anastasia Higginbotham's Not My Idea: A Book about Whiteness, which teaches elementary school children that "whiteness is a bad deal" and stereotypes police as racist killers. It would be to defend the "Color Line" exercise, a teacher training activity developed by Glenn Singleton's Pacific Educational Group, which aims to help white educators identify their so-called "white privilege" so they can understand how this privilege is perpetuating white supremacy culture in K–12 schools as well as the rest of America. According to University of Alabama history professor David Beito, this exercise is a Maoist-style scheme that "publicly humiliate[s] dissenters by having them wear signs around their necks expressing shame for their 'incorrect thoughts.'" It would be to support forcing third-graders to deconstruct their racial identities and rank themselves according to their power and privilege. It would be to teach educators that babies show the first signs of racism at three months old and that White children "remain strongly biased in favor of Whiteness" by age five. It would be to argue that the United States was founded on a Eurocentric, White supremacist, capitalist, patriarchal, homophobic, and anthropocentric paradigm brought from Europe. It would require teachers to locate themselves on an "oppression matrix" and accept that White heterosexual Protestant males are inherently oppressive and therefore must atone for their "covert White supremacy." It would be to defend turning MLK's "Dream" on its head, replacing judging a person by the "content of character" with judging a person by the color of his skin. It would be to defend replacing individualism with identity-based tribalism, with teaching children that race is the most important determinant of success, that meritocracy and American exceptionalism are evil, and that systemic racism is so deeply ingrained in our institutions that you are no longer the captain of your own ship. In other words, it would be to defend the indefensible. CRT is no fairytale. It negatively impacts teacher morale, school discipline, and instruction. You can squabble over semantics — call it "critical pedagogy," or "critical whiteness studies," or "intersectionality" — but this is simply a distraction. As Kentucky State University assistant professor Wilfred Reilly writes for City Journal: This debate over semantics might provide an interesting basis for a panel at a scholarly conference, but it's of little use or interest for parents concerned that their children are being taught partisan nonsense. While technical differences exist between the various critical paradigms, virtually all of them share three baseline assumptions: that racism is "everywhere," and supposedly neutral systems, such as policing or standardized tests, are set up to oppress minorities; that to prove the existence of this oppression one need only note that large groups perform at different levels; and that the solution to this problem is equity — or proportional representation of all groups across all endeavors. So people like Salon's Chauncey Devega pretend CRT and its insidious offshoots don't exist. It's easier to deny reality than to defend political and cultural kryptonite. Better to tell a long-winded, hokey story about the "Goat Man" and finish by calling everybody a racist and white supremacist. CRT is very real. To quote Anthony Kinnett, a curriculum developer in Indiana, "When we tell you Critical Race Theory isn't being taught in our schools, we're lying. Keep looking."

Make no mistake , social engineering and brainwashing of students is taking place . B-Man Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Democrat strategists are reportedly planning to double down on Critical Race Theory and painting parents as ‘white supremacists’ Based on how Election Day 2021 went in Virginia and how polling for the Biden administration is looking, Democrats could be in very serious trouble as they head into 2022. No worries, though! They’ve got a plan. B-Man Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 #RESIST: VICTORY FOR VIRGINIA MOMS WHO CHALLENGED SCHOOL DISTRICT. Two Virginia moms who were silenced by the Fairfax County school district won a resounding victory in court this morning when a judge upheld their First Amendment rights and struck down the district’s unconstitutional attempts to shut down their speech. . . . Fairfax County mothers Debra Tisler and Callie Oettinger wanted to know how their school district was spending taxpayer dollars, especially given that the county has been in national news about its recent legal troubles. Debra filed a Freedom of Information Act request to find out how much the district was paying for its legal bills, and after the Board turned over 1,300 pages of documents, Callie posted some of them on her website specialeducationaction.com, after deleting any potentially confidential information. Incredibly, the simple act of publishing public information online provoked a backlash from the school district, which sued Debra and Callie, demanding that they destroy the documents, remove them from their website, and replace them with heavily censored substitute documents. The reason: The district realized that the documents were embarrassing to school officials who have spent outrageous amounts of taxpayer money for legal representation and have been careless with private student information in the past. Unfortunately, this case is just one of the latest examples of public school bureaucrats attacking parents for daring to ask questions about how tax dollars are being used and what is being taught in schools. Yes, it is. https://goldwaterinstitute.org/article/victory-for-virginia-moms-who-challenged-school-district/

They just key in on part of the story. The part they want to tell. The part that supports their beliefs. And exclude what doesn't. Slavery didn't start in 1619 or when Europeans arrived on the scene in West Africa. There were other parties complicit in the slave trade. If you're going to teach history then that needs to be included. But again the history of slavery curriculum pushed in US schools by woke school boards has a blind spot when it comes to this fuller accounting of history. A fuller accounting would disrupt the easy to follow victim & oppressor relationship and make things more complicated. And leave a lot of grey area. And ideologists prefer binary arguments. Standard folklore has European "slave traders" traveling into the interior of Africa and hunting down, trapping, and capturing unsuspecting Africans and ultimately shipping them to the New World to work in the American colonies. But initially slaves that were sent to the New World were sent to the Caribbean sugar plantations and to South America to Portuguese colonies like Brazil. The inconvenient fact is almost all of the Black Africans that were sold into slavery were captured and relegated to a life of servitude at the hands of other Black Africans from competing kingdoms and tribes. And this trade ran through Arab slave traders as an intermediary to various markets. One being the New World plantations. This Arab slave trade arrangement with African kingdoms was running for hundreds of years before Europeans arrived on the scene in Africa. And for the ruling kingdoms of West Africa this was a commercial enterprise they used to generate the funds from selling slaves to trade for goods and animal stock like horses. So I'm 100% behind the "history" lesson of slavery and racism if its going to include an accounting and discussion of the role played by Black Africans in selling their fellow Black Africans into slavery. This might raise all kinds of questions about who should really be paying reparations. And some inspection of the woke belief in the inherent evil monopoly white people hold because logically Black Africans that sold their bothers and sisters into slavery and the Arab slave traders would need to be just as inherently evil. Perhaps more evil? Add to that lesson the role of Arab slave traders acting as middle man that sold a portion of those slaves to Europeans and others to Middle Eastern markets and beyond. And that the slave trade in West Africa existed for 100's of years before white Europeans showed up on the scene. And that America eliminated slavery before most every other "market" for slaves. And in fact slavery still exists today. And rather than argue about the history of slavery which we can do nothing about it might be more productive and important to be doing something to stop and fight against slavery in its many forms that is happening around the world today. Sadly I suspect the entire thing is all about the usual political hustles for power. And not so much for correctly accounting for historical events. Edited November 20, 2021 by All_Pro_Bills 1

B-Man Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 I will put this here also Figster, if you don't mind. Same as with any "designated group" Some definitely are, most aren't. Some minorities are, most aren't Out in America, race is not the be all and end all problem that the Left and the media say. Of course there are still episodes of racism, but it slowly but surely is being driven out. My two cents. 1
