I was a regional scout for over a decade! Of course I know a 5* guy from Ohio!

And yea he was a decent QB! He made it work

That's awesome! Question for you. Do you think it hurts the critical relationships that exist in recruiting between college coaches and high school coaches if star players skip their senior seasons (and a chance to win big with their high school coach/team) to go off to college? If the high school coaches start getting annoyed because OSU wants their five-stars on campus early, I'm a bit concerned that there could be longer-term, unintended consequences here. The pipelines are generally more important than any one player.

Of course. It's a tricky situation.. a lot of early enrollees finish their high School football season, and then enroll in college in January

Then you get the guys like Sawyer and such who just skipped his senior season to prepare for Ohio State..

Definitely sucks for Pinkerington, but when you have a five-star defensive end playing quarterback and he gets hurt... It's going to make him rethink why he is playing both ways in high school.. I can see why he's going to Columbus

As for long-term consequences. Ohio state is not the only School trying to get kids to enroll early.. all the powerhouses do it and it's an advantage to get players in earlier ..

Sure it absolutely does hurt the high school and the coach losing a kid early.. but they recruit in high school now too.. so that coach, can go down the next town to the small school... And promise their best  unheralded player, a starting spot on a better team, and scout attention

Something he wasn't getting at the small school.. so it's like a double-edged sword.. these top schools are losing some kids early .. so coaches are just always looking around the area to upgrade talent.. it could even be from out of state

Example how levels of HS football work:  christian veilleux-QB- Early enrolle Penn St.. FR

Zero star recruit in Canada. A good Catholic School in Buffalo. Canisius high School... They promised to get him on the map and get him D1 scholarships.. a year later, he's a rising 4-star recruit.. getting offers from Alabama Clemson and Penn State and the like... They don't want him playing high School football in western New York basically even at a good HS that plays national schedule.. so they basically tell him to transfer to a bigger school.. so he goes to bullis school in Maryland and finishes where he commits to Penn... He would not have gotten any division one offers from Canada.. the decision to come to Buffalo got him two dozen.. and then he finished his career playing Major level football , hopefully getting experience to get ready for Penn State

4A 5A 6A football is literally a religion. high School coaches understand that
