BillsFan Trapped in Pats Land
Yeah. I wouldn't feel so safe about that Carolina game their defense is damn good again. We probably won't sweep Miami.
stuckincincy
I think JP will follow what took place with Cincy's Palmer - wet behind the ears, probabaly a 1 - 5 start. Will have no ability to utilize the TE (cincy's completions to the TE dropped in half - Palmer's field acumen was much less that the vet Kitna), and JP will play behind a weaker OL than Palmer. I can't see the Bills being any better than 8 - 8. The defense is ok, but no more - thanks to offensive ineptitude, they defended some short fields and looked good on paper because of that. They were undistinguished in the last, crucial game, and are thin at LB and the DL among other spots. Cincy ended up with 18 on the DL - the Bill's squad would collapse if they suffered such. They were fortunate injury-wise last season. I've said it last season and I'll say it again - this is a paper-thin club with no bench. Hence, one of the reasons I dislike our GM. flomoe
It wouldn't surprise me to see them win 10 games. Every year, some team manages to surprise people and start out on a roll and end up in the playoffs. Two that come to mind would be Baltimore a few years back and the Chargers last year. Also, every year, a team that everyone picks to do well, falters and doesn't do half as well as predicted. My team to crumble this year is the Pats. I know it sounds a bit of a reach considering two SB's in a row but they are well overdue for that hangover. I also don't think Atlanta is all that good and MOST of their wins last year were against some pretty dismal teams. Unfortunately, a couple teams on the Bills schedule this year that will pose problems would be Carolina though their vertical game leaves a bit to be desired, the Bengals and the Jets twice, though I don't think their rushing game will be nearly as good as it was last year. Point is, the Bills have a fairly favorable schedule to start out and if they get on a roll, they could be home against the Jets with possibly no losses or one loss at that point. I don't think 10 wins is all that far fetched for this team.

That said there's no way this team starts 1-5. I'd bet more strongly toward 5-1. We have a good team, we saw it come together in the latter part of '04. We haven't done anything flashy to upgrade this offseason, but we didn't lose much. The one thing we did lose that I think will hurt most is Pat Williams, and hopefully we can make some sort of upgrade between now and the opener to offset that loss. If we do and our D holds to similar form as last season, we should have no problem getting to 11 wins.

Tipster19
I would like to think that with a year under Mularkey and McNally's belt that we would see this team pick up where we left off (outside of the Pittsburgh game of course). Our interior of the defense were young also and now they have more playing time experience. The addition of JP's mobility will either make us or break us. I hope Wyche is performing the best coaching job of his life.
Ralonzo
The thing is, on paper, this schedule starts out as soft as the middle-late part of our sked was last year. Every game up to the Patriots night game is winnable. 7-0 isn't really much of a stretch if we have any semblance of OL, catch a few breaks, and JP doesn't do as many boneheaded things as Bledsoe. Seriously, just using the defense + special teams + caretaker offense, I don't see why this isn't possible. If those 3 or 4 close games at the beginning of last season tip the other way, who knows what woulda happened. However, the back half of the schedule is a murderer's row. We'll need to knock off a few teams that I don't expect us to. If Losman gets it together by midseason and starts performing like an NFL quarterback, wins over the Donkoes and Bungles get the Bills in at 11-5. The schedulers could NOT have been kinder to a team throwing a rookie QB into the fire.

Phlegm Alley
We sart off the season with ripping off 6 straight but lose the last two games before the bye against Oak. and NE. We end up with 11 wins and out only win on the road during the second half of the season is agiainst the lowly Dolphins. We crawl into the playoffs by with road losses in weeks 16 and 17 and unfortunately lose in the first round of the playoffs.
