Chandler#81 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 He was a steady addition to the LB corps that led to the Kelly era turnaround. Thank you for the memories, #54! 4
Rico Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I didn’t realize he played 11 years, not too shabby. RIP. 1
BigdaddyinOrlando Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 RIP! He was a solid linebacker and played hard and was always in the right spot it seemed! Enjoyed watching him play! Condolences to his family and friends, passed way to soon. 2

Charles Romes Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I remember regretting how much “even better” our great D of ‘88 would have been if we still had Eugene Marv. I could not figure out how we lost him to the Bucs and back then there was no way to figure that out. Maybe microfiche at the public library.

Nextmanup Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Boy, another ex-NFLer dying way too young. Remember Eugene well; RIP. 2

AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I worked on a cable show, “Buffalo Bills Magazine” back in those days and remember Marve as a solid guy, never an attitude, and a fine football player .... sixty is way too young. Wonder if there was a CTE issue? RIP big guy 1 1

TheBrownBear Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I remember cheering him on at Rich Stadium as a young boy. Sad stuff. RIP Eugene. Prayers to his family. 1
Stranded in Boston Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 (edited) Marve ("e" at the end, guys) was super solid. It's just a shame his mid-80s teams were so awful. I always felt kind of sorry for Marve: he just missed out on the Bills early 80s run, and then left on the cusp of the Kelly-era SB run. I don't think they were recording tackle stats at that time, but man, Marve was a tackling machine! RIP. Edited May 26, 2021 by Stranded in Boston 3
slipkid Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Perhaps my favorite Bill as the team gained momentum through the late 1980s. RIP.

Played at the U and then Purdue and I thought he might carve out a nice career in the CFL but he gave up after a year and a half. 3
